This was very touching! It brought me to tears. Awesomely fantastic job.
i SO did not see that ending coming! good job with that plot twist. well, take that with a grain of salt; im feeling a bit blonde today :-). spectacular job, but i felt ginny was a little sappy and some of her conversations with molly were a little.......stiff. but very good, 10/10!
oh, that's awful... I mean, what happened to harry, not the story. it's a nice contradiction to the happy fluffy ending where the war is over and all our canon couples get married and livehappilyeveraftertheend. yeah, it was good because it was sad. the promise ring, though... a tad overused.
Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, I know it was pretty awful... I wanted to do something a little bit different. And thanks for the promise ring tip. I don't read a whole lot of H/G, so I wouldn't have known, but I'll try to use something different if I ever write another H/G fic. =)
This Is A Such A Sad Stroy
But It's Really Good :)
Author's Response: Thank you! =)
that was just so sad! It was so shocked when i read that harry was dead! that was really well written!
Author's Response: Yeah, it was pretty sad for me when I was writing it. But I'm glad you thought it was well written. Thank you, dear. =)
Now I'm just depressed. Ah. Pah. The whole concept of Harry committing suicide makes me sad. I really feel for Ginny in this one. You've got great description of her emotions and great transitions from memory to memory. I feel as though you could've lead up to the suicide a bit more so that when it hits, the readers will have lots of emotion to spill out. I'm not sure how I'd do something like that, but I suppose what I'm trying to say is give the readers some time to get emotional. That's it.
Very well written and I'm glad that I read it.
Author's Response: Thanks for your kind words, Lainie! I'm glad that you liked it. I know what you mean about leading to the suicide a bit more so the readers get emotional. I wasn't too sure of how to write it, though, so I decided to leave it as a passing detail. But thanks anyway, I'll keep that in mind if I ever write another fic involving something like this. :)
i loved it yet it was so sad!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you loved it ,but yes, it was sad. Thanks for the review. :)
This is really good, but so sad.
Author's Response: Thanks for your review. I'm glad you thought it was good, but yeah, it is sad, I know. I made it that way.
Here's your complimentary review for entering our In House Challenge! Thanks for entering and good luck!
I liked the way the song worked with the piece. Very nice.
However, your characterization of Ginny isn't how I see her. I can't see her pining after a man who has rejected her. She moved on past Harry after her first year, and I think she would if he rejected her like this.
I also didn't think that Harry would write Ginny letters, simply because he was the one who broke up with her to keep her safe. Sending her letters from him via owl isn't exactly safe.
The story flowed nicely, and the flashbacks were smoothly incorporated. Overall, very nice job. :)
Author's Response: Thanks a lot, Kumy. I appreciate it. I know I did Ginny a little strangely, but oh well. I don't chracterize her very well, but thanks for your comment. I'll keep that in mind if I decide to write Ginny in another fic. :) Once again, thank you!
please write more
Author's Response: Thanks. I wish I could, but this is a one-shot, so it's done. You could check out my other stories if you like. ;)
Wow! You cover a lot of ground, very believably...
I really feel like there is enough of a story here for this to be longer, if you wanted it to. I think you did very well with the length you chose, but I think the whole romance with Colin, etc. would be very interesting to read. Considering the ending, however, it might be difficult to spend that much time on it...Anyway, I like how you've shown Harry. The glimpse we get is very credible to me. In fact, it reminded me of something that happened to me a long time ago...
Author's Response: Hey, thank you for your kind words! I actually don't know about the colin/Ginny romance... I kind of just tossed that in to make things a little more... complicated, I suppose you could say. Just so that there's more of a reason to have a problem. But I'm glad you liked it. I *might* continue it, but I haven't yet come up with a decent bunny... thanks for your review. :)
Well, you already know this, but I really love this fic. It's so sad, but so beautiful. I love Ginny's reaction to Harry's death, it's exactly how I think she would react. This is written wonderfully (I feel like you don't even need a beta). 10/10
Oh yeah, one more thing. Charlie's wife's name is Leanne! That's totally my name (spelled the same way!) So cool. Coincidence?
Author's Response: Hey, thanks for reviewing! I'm glad you liked it, and thanks again for beta-ing. It would be kind of screwy if you didn't help me out. :) Ha, yes, Charlie's wife is Leanne. Coincidence? Yes, probably...I just kind of randomly pulled out a name :D
Fantastic! But sad... May I suggest a little turn-of-tide? Either a continuation of this (where "Parry Otter" returns) or a new story, based on what you already have written, but with a few tweaks? (It is kind of hard keeping a good story going when the main-character is sort of... dead.) (And everybody likes a happy ending) But really, you're writing is excellent! Keep it up! By the way, if you're interested in it, I could beta for you (or be a second beta if you already have one - or whatever ;)) Mail me at thomasaarholt (at) gmail (dot) com (and leave a message here) - If you're interested!
Author's Response: Hey, thanks for reviewing! I've actually thought about doing a sequel or continuation, just to make things end on a nicer note. Maybe after my writer's block goes away. If I do, I'll email you and you can beta for me or something. Thanks.
wow...really sad. did Harry ever get her letter? i wonder...very powerful and beautifully written. i was close to tears at the end. nice job
Author's Response: Aww...thanks for reviewing! Btw, Harry did get her letter, but he just never replied to it...I'm glad you liked it, but it was kind of sad, even for me. ;)
Rip out my heart and beat it, why don't you! Gosh, this is totally well-written, and really powerful, too. I mean, I was getting so emotional and I didn't realize it was a one-shot until the end and I was like, ACK! No! He can't die like that, it's so horrible! Great story!
Author's Response: Hey, thanks for reviewing my story! I'm really glad you liked it, and you're my first reviewer, so you made me happy :) I appreciate it very much.
