Chapter: Cursed by Thunder Moon

Poor Remus! I like how we had first the chapter with Ariadne's past and now this one with Remus's. Being him must really be hard! How old was Remus, when he was bitten? Around four? So he would be... 27? And Ariadne is 17? Hmm... *sorry, I'm obsessed with figuring these things out...*
Anyway, I really enjoyed this chapter! It showed Remus's past in a way that was realistic and tragic and innocent. Your writing, too, is great as is the characterization!

Author's Response: Dear V, Yes, Ariadne is 16 in 1982, although she isn't even born in this flashback scene. Remus is four. JKR doesn't tell us exactly how old he was when he was bitten, but I have the impression that he was old enough to remember the event. I didn't feel I invented very much in this chapter. JKR has already given us this part of the story, with few gaps left to fill. But I too feel that it must have been really hard to be Remus at that early stage of his life. Thanks for keeping up the reviews, GhV

Chapter: Ineffable Deceit

Well, I sure like the Macmillans more too! I agree with the child-raising being... questionable at best... poor Ariadne! It must be awful... everyone so polite... I'd most definately rather be yelled at once in a while!
The characters are developing wonderfully (or rather, their character is being revealed to the reader - they haven't really changed... yet...).
Your portrayal of how Voldemort's name became so taboo is great, too! Can't wait to read the next chapter!

Author's Response: Dear V, You are obviously a woman after my own heart. The Macmillans every time! I'm afraid the MacDougals (except Ariadne) are not going to develop very much. They are set in their ways and unwilling to learn anything new. They think they are very progressive parents for using time out instead of slapping or shouting. Thank you for reviewing, GhV

Chapter: Hiding from Hunter's Moon

Poor Lupin!
But before I comment on this chapter, I would like to point out my diappointment at there not being any "playing house" at all last chapter! *kidding...*
Anyway... great chapter!! I like all of the different characters and how they all fit together and are part of the story in some way, and don't seem unneccessary at all! Plus, Remus is very IC! I hope the trasformation goes ok!
One question... (though I guess this might be cleared up later on...) How old is Remus? And is Harry born yet?
That's all, and a great chapter! Off to read the next!

Author's Response: Dear V, I'm glad you don't think there were unnecessary characters. I had to invite someone to that party, and I like to use canon characters where possible. Remus is now 23 (he was born March 1959) and Harry is two (he was born July 1980). I care about chronology too - I tear my hair out over JKR's arithmetic! However, she has never contradicted herself concerning the dates when MWPP were born - it was definitely between September 1958 and August 1959. As to whether the transformation will go well, you'll have to wait until chapter 17 to find out. No playing house? They were BUILDING a parlour!! Thanks for your input, GhV

Chapter: Truth under a Waxing Moon

What an interesting character Ariadne MacDougal seems to be! And Remus's character is very good, too, and IC! Poor guy, not allowed to follow his heart and teach!
It's a bit odd, how Ariadne and her mother use the whatever-it's-called form of "we're needing" instead of "we need" (as an example) but if it's part of their characters, it really is interesting. If not, I don't think it's a big deal, anyway!
This is a great chapter, and I'm sure the rest of the story will be just as great! So, let me just settle back and read it!

Author's Response: Dear Valentinia, Remus won't be teaching during this story. The job market isn't too friendly to werewolves. To answer your grammatical question, it is considered correct in Scotland to express modal verbs in the continuous tenses. When you think about it, this is logical. Thanks for taking the trouble to review. There is more of Ariadne to follow. Regards, GhV

Chapter: Sunrise after Hunter's Moon

Aww...this story was sweet. Gin_Drinka told me it was good and she was right. Great job, I love it!

Author's Response: Dear Patient Wanderer, Thank you for letting me know! Gin Drinka has obviously been a good friend to both of us! Regards, GhV

Chapter: Deceived on Every Side

Oh those evil little girls, that Letitia! I hate them! Nice chapter, I liked it a lot.

Author's Response: Dear Gin Drinka, I'm glad you hate Letitia, because I do too. In personality and character (and looks too), she is exactly like her brother Lucius. That means she will have to do a very good pretend-job for the next two years, and claim she's happy about losing the war. Thanks for reviewing, GhV

Chapter: Moons under the Order

I like it of course but I think there was a little bit of a lack of reaction about the Potter's deaths. But I love this story so don't take it badly, I hate offending!

Author's Response: Dear GD, You have said so many positive things about this story that you are welcome to mention also a few that didn't work so well for you. I think Remus is in shock - more reaction will follow. But the truth is, nothing so horrific has ever happened to me, so I found it very difficult to imagine his feelings. Maybe it's somewhat wooden? Thanks for keeping up the reviews, GhV

Chapter: Double Deceit

I like those readings. Very well-written as usual! This is a really good story

Author's Response: Thank you very much! Trelawney is a very fun character, isn't she? But I suspect the crystal, tarot, etc. only work for true Seers. GhV

Good, but sad. Well, I guess that's just what it was like. Poor Moony

Author's Response: Dear GD, Yes, his family had to go, didn't they? Poor Moony indeed. It will be worse before it's better. Regards, GhV

How horrible! How sad! How...very tragic!

Oh my! What will those horrible little beasts do now? poor Veleta...

Author's Response: They will report straight back to their horrible beastly grandfather, and what he will do, you don't want to know... GhV

Chapter: Defying the Moon's Demand

I like the way this was done, but i think that Remus seems not to like his friends very much. A sort of 'I can't do better, so I'll stick with what I have', thing.

Author's Response: Dear GD, I definitely think he didn't like them (especially Sirius) very much on the morning after The Prank. But don't worry, he'll think better of it - and I like to think that Sirius learned something too. I find the whole thing very uncomfortable, and I hope JKR will tell us more about it in Book VII. Thanks for reviewing, GhV

Chapter: Eschewing Deceit

That's interesting about Veleta...I was guessing something like this. I really like all of her friends, I hope we'll see more of them.

Author's Response: Dear Gin Drinka, Yes, the friends will be an important part of the plot. Richard Campion will end up as Ernie Macmillan's brother-in-law, so that makes him almost canon! Thanks for reviewing, GhV

Chapter: Barricaded against the Moon

Wow, that's horrible!

But on a happier note, I like the way you make Remus's parents support him. I've read many stories where they start ignoring him after he gets bitten, but I like this kind better. And I like the way they all become friends too.

Author's Response: Dear Gin Drinka, Yes, horrible, isn't it? My son nearly cried, which is why I had to give a PG-13 rating. I actually wrote this pre-HBP, but I didn't have to change anything. That werewolf could easily be Greyback. I am surprised to hear about stories where Remus's parents don't support him. With his good manners, hard work and genuine compassion, I always assumed that he came from a very strong family. Of course, he doesn't seem to have anyone by PoA time... but that's many years later. I think Remus would be friends with anyone who made the first move to him, while James and Sirius would never leave out anyone who accepted their lead, so it was just a case of bringing everyone together. But I hope JKR will tell us more about why they hated Snape so much! Thanks for your support, GhV

Chapter: Deceit at the Wedding

That's sad about her family...but still real good. And I love that bit about her first week at Hogwarts, especially the bit about Professor Pavo, Ha!

Author's Response: Dear GD, Yes, I think you understand why her parents behave they way they do when you realise what their own lives were like. And I'm so glad that you understood about Professor Pavo - I was wondering if anyone would! Thanks for keeping up the reviews, GhV

Well, that was sad too...you wrote it real well, I bet that's probably how J.K thought it happened...

Author's Response: Dear GD, That's the nicest thing you could possibly say ... and I certainly hope that's how JK thought it happened. Thanks for taking the trouble to review, GhV

Very well-written. I like the way Miss McDougall is coming out...

Author's Response: Dear GD, She's coming out quietly because she doesn't like to draw attention to herself. But you'll know her pretty well if you keep reading. GhV
