One more thing: the song at the end is not by Jimmy Buffett, it's by Rupert Holmes.
Jimmy Buffet sings Margaritaville.
This story had a very good beginning and middle...but the end was not good. The Harry/Hermione pairing came absolutely out of nowhere and with no reason at all.
Not only that, but to watch Harry and Hermione move so easily toward each other so soon after Ron died right in front of them leaves quite a disgusting taste in this reader's mouth. Ron's not even cold in the ground yet and they're kissing each other.
Hermione "loves" Ron, yet is in Harry's arms a day later...and after showing absolutely zero previous romantic inclinations towards Harry? Hermione's actions make her look like a liar, and make it look like she's posturing for sympathy after her friend's death. It makes her extremely unlikeable and it's hard for me to hope that she ends up happy when she's so thoroughly distasteful.
Anyway, I liked the story until the end, until the non sequitor Harmony factor was thrown in for no reason. That factor acted like a monkey wrench thrown into a well-oiled machine...it caused nothing but wreckage. Too bad.
I quite thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, though was sad that Ron died.
Excellent humor used especially during Draco's drunken singing and also Harry singing while Draco and Ginny were kissing.
Author's Response: Thank you very much, moppy. I'm glad you liked it.
very nice charpter, but it's strange to see voldemort rever to a muggle-cardgame :D
Author's Response: Thank you. I don't remember the cardgame, but what the hell...
You're such a good writer!
Author's Response: Thanks!
Well what can I say (apart from I'm knackered!:) Really good direction to take it in. There are so many ways it could play out, are you thinking of (or have you done??) anymore? Please let me know if you do. Thanks for a great story!
Author's Response: You are no doubt quite tired right now! But thanks for reading and reviewing. I'm glad you liked the overall story! I have not done and will not do any more on this story. I have other stories if you're interested. Thanks for the great reviews!
Yet another great chapter, well done. I'm becoming very tired now but cannot sleep until I've read all you've written on this one, it is so addictive! I'm also very interested to know will they won't they for both couples. Bit sad to see ron go but over pleased that lucius got what was coming to him, about time!
Author's Response: Thanks again! I know what you mean; I've read some fanfics that keep my up until the wee hours of the night. I'm glad you're not slaughtering me for letting Ron go, but of course it's sad... Lucius did deserve it, no doubt about that.
Wow, I didn't see that coming! Exellent!!
Author's Response: Thanks!
This is getting better and better. The way you played draco and and ginny with the love-hate was really well wriiten, I hope I'm going to see them together that would be an alternitive outcome that I would enjoy. No going to bed now, just on with the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks, pinktat! I really enjoyed writing this chapter. Draco and Ginny are both strong characters, so it's fun to write them as somewhat childish yet when the moment things turn rough, they're level-headed and mature.
This chapter was good, the way things are sliding together with ease. Must have been a lot of fun to write, playing around with the different characters and putting the most unlikely ones togther. I see my reviews are getting longer with each chapter also, a good sign :)
Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, the pairing are quite non-canon, but that just makes it challenging for me to write.
Oh, this is not on! Yet agian instead of going to bed I'm going to read the next! Everytime I've said 'after this one'. Do I detect a bit of harry in malfoy, confiding in a teacher? It's a very harry thing to do. Can't wait to turn the page!
Author's Response: Lol, I'm glad you're so into reading it, though I hope I'm not making you sleep deprived. It's definitely Harryish to have this sort of conversation with a teacher, even though Draco does it quite reluctantly.
This is becoming more addictive. It's very well written and the way harry and draco can 'connect' is a fabulous use of imagination!
Author's Response: Thank you very much!
Great to put two people who hate eachother in a postion where they have to help eachother. Must have been as much fun to write as it was to read.
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, it's quite fun to write their bickering :)
A refreshing look at how things 'could' turn out. Also very well written.
Author's Response: Thank you, pinktat.
Author's Response: Thanks!
Hey it’s MuggleMunkey!
Sorry I couldn’t review when this chapter first came out...let me explain, my dad is going crazy again. I’m not allowed to get on Mugglenet or Mugglenet Fan Fiction during the week. So I can only get on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Doesn’t that suck? I think it does!
Well there was your explanation……now about your story, first off I would like to say that I’m very sad that it’s done. But very happy you finally updated! I was wondering when you would! This was an awesome chapter and a very good ending! I loved it, from beginning to end; I loved it so much, it was fluffy and cute…..well except for Ron dying. (About Ron) I’m glad that you killed someone off, because then the battle would have been very unrealistic. Cuz how can five teenagers fight all those evil death eaters and come out without a scratch? That’s not possible!
I’m a little sad that we don’t get to read about whether Harry and Hermione make it! But the fact that Draco and Ginny kissed makes up for it! I love that you ended it with their kiss! It was so cute! I loved that part! OH MY BOB! Harry was singing If you like Pina Coladas! I was laughing so hard when I read that part…it sounds like something I would do to one of my best friends! And after reading it I also had the song stuck in my head for the rest of the day! My brother was ready to slap me! But he didn’t, which I’m grateful for! And I can’t believe I recognized that quote from Hercules, but then again I love to watch moves! Specially Disney movies! Even though my friends think that’s embarrassing.
Another part that I thought was funny was when Draco said he was in Four Broomsticks! That was very clever! I have one question…when Harry said…..
“But then he said he was in the Four Broomsticks — apparently he brought his own along.”
…do you mean that Draco brought his own firewhisky? Just wondering!
Now that I cleared that up…………………………………………………………………I love your writing! You are my favorite author! If I could pick one author and only read their stories I would most definitely pick you! Your writing is amazing! And I wouldn’t be surprised that if one day you are an awesome writer like JKR! I mean everything I’m, writing here! Cuz if I didn’t then I wouldn’t always come back for more of you stories…. I think I have read almost all of them! When I read your stories they capture my mind and take them to a whole new world, filled with drama sad endings happy endings and more!
Right now I’m half happy and half sad that this wonderfully brilliant story is done! But I’m sure I haven’t seen the last of you! Thanks for this story! And all your other ones as well!
Author's Response: Oh, so that's why you would come back with another - and longer, I might add - review. I'm really pleased as well that I've finally updated this story. It was a great load off my mind when I pressed the submit button. I'm glad you're not slapping me with wet noodles for killing dear Ron! I know Hermione and Harry's relationship will remain a mystery, but I didn't want them to be all "Come on, let's kiss and forget everything about Ron". I know they could be together without having to shun the memory of him, but I believe they would need some time to recover. Yes, Draco and Ginny finally got it together! I'm glad to hear you liked their little scene of luurve, and Harry interrupting it was just too good to pass up. So, it was raining and they "get caught in the rain" (as it says in the song). I'm happy your brother didn't slap you for singing the song! You recognised the "Pain and Panic" quote? Well done, you! "But then he said he was in the Four Broomsticks - apparently he brought his own along" means that Draco brought his own broomstick with him, thus going from Three Broomsticks to Four. Aww, thank you so much for the compliments! *blushes* My cheeks hurt from smiling when I read this review! And no, you definitely haven't seen the last of me. My newest Hermione/Draco one-shot will be up shortly. Once again, thank you for the wonderful review, MuggleMunkey!
im gonna start writing your review now! so look for it up above!
Author's Response: Okay!
just here to say hi and awesome cahpter! your review is coming but i just wanted you to know that i haven't forgotten you or your brilliant stories! well expect an awesome review 2morrow! amd an explanation as to why i can't just write it now! ^_^
Author's Response: Thanks, MuggleMunkey. Ooh, I'm looking forward to this review then. Your opinions are invaluable, you know that, right? Cheers!
Wow, I loved this chapter! But if a part of Draco was transferred to Harry, it looks like a part of Harry was sent to Draco, especially Harry's boldness which draco didn't have before.
Author's Response: Thank you! You're right. But I also think Draco's realised he's got to pull himself together if he wants to get out of there alive.
What was the song Harry was singing? I'm sure I've heard it before...
Author's Response: You probably have. It's called "If you like Pina Coladas" by Jimmy Buffett. Lovely song. Lovely drink.
