You know it's been over ten years since I started reading this - it holds up.
I have in some ways changed, but the story is as magnificent as ever.
I read this way back when it was relatively new, and I just want to tell you that not only is it one of my favorite fanfics ever (I wish I could have it in book form so I could read it offline) but I prefer your story to the actual canon Snape backstory that was revealed in Deathly Hallows. This will always be Snape's actual history, to me. So thank you for sharing this and I wish you all the success in the world with your future publishing efforts.
What a wonderful story, except for the patronus thing you did a morvelous job no wonder you won a contest. This was really truly amazing! Thank you!
Just makes you gat Lucius more and glad Sevverus can be so calculating
Glas he's feeling better and yet again you make everything fit so well.
Wow, eery and haunting
Poor, poor Severus. Though it would have made more sense for Lily to have indeed the deer patronus and him being able to produce one and it also being a deer patronus after say, a snogging session together. But alas that will never be. And you wrote it like you wrote it.
Snape the teacher, how quaint
I do commend you for not making Dumbledore out to be some scheming-two-timing manipulative old coot but he still sort of was... For the greater good my behind
So much more believable, than Rowlings, but then again, she did make the whole thing up so...
You. Are. Brilliant.
Wonderful rendition of the events from HP.
He is cautious with his thoughts, but less so with his letters. I mean, he pretended (sort of) to hate Evans in his memories, but what if someone in the circle where to intercept his letter? Though his words are guarded, Voldermort would get the gist and see his lies. Poor Hadrian. But at least Sev's competent enough. And Lucious.. not so much apparently. Him being married to her for longer and all
Severus' woes. I really do feel sorry for him, but at least he's got his sanity. For now.
And there is your 'name', and another wonderful chapter. Glad Snape 'got some' a shame it was Narcissa, but, what can you do.
Interaction between them seems so real and easy going and their relationship so profound
Nice insight into his time there. Brief but complete enough.
Pursuing his dreams in the US...
A grudge is like a dirty mind (if exerted well) a joy forever.
See, this love thing has got me feeling even worse for Snape. Ah well, let's see how you incorporate the res of the story...
