This is incredibly, incredibly sad. I think part of that was achieved through the repetition of the words "She knew." Keep writing about her.

Oh my God, that was amazing. I am crying too just reading it. One would think that repeating teh phrase "She knew" that many times would sound annoying, but you did it magnificently. It all worked so well and was very beautiful. I have read many stories about James and Lily's last moments, but this one was by far the best. My favourite line was this:
"And she whispered love.
And he breathed desire.
And she cried intimacy.
And he smiled truth."

That was so amazing. Brilliant job, you are truly an outstanding author.
