What? he was dead? No way. I think I knew it from the beginning but I didn't think you would really write it like that. It was beautifully sardonic was it not? I really enjoyed your sense of character and attitude towards emotion. It was a refreshingly lovingly crafted story. Well done. But Ron will wake up, right?

Author's Response: Alas, no - he's definitely dead! But at least he's with Hermione now, and Ginny is still alive for Harry. Thank you very much for your flattering review, and for taking the time to comment.

Ron... hermione dead? *sob* that was written sooo well, you made me think he was just ill then we found out he was dead, so sad

Author's Response: Thank you very much for reviewing; I'm flattered you thought it was well-written.

I was a sad twist at the end to learn that Ron was dead, and not asleep...good job though.
p.s And Death Shall Have No Dominion is one of my favourite poems...imagine that.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it - and that the twist worked. I love that poem too, and it just seemed to fit the story. Thank you for reviewing.

*sob* Good grief, that was horribly sad, but wonderfully written. I don't know why, but I'm reading a lot of war fics lately...really nice monologue. Favorites bound!

Author's Response: Hehe, thank you! Everyone needs a little misery on their favourites ;-) I'm glad you enjoyed the monologue style.

So painful and horribly sad, yet at the same time, I feel like this is totally how it COULD be in the end. Who is to say? (Well, Rowling, I suppose!) Another thing that strikes me is that the hopelessness and terror that fills this piece reminds me of what I imagine the "first war" with Voldemort was like, when the Marauders watched so many of their friends die, before James and Lily fell. Excellent piece!!

Author's Response: Thank you so much; I really admire your writing so your review means a lot to me. I'm glad you felt it captured the true hideousness of war and bereavement. I agree with you that the end of the Marauder's era must have been unbearably tragic. Thank you for taking the time to review :-)

Forget "almost" cried, you had me all the way! I've only had tears in my eyes for two other fanfics, congradulations! ;) I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED! your story. I felt like you just sat down and wrote what you were feeling, what Harry was feeling. I didn't think Ron was dead! That really surprized me, at the end. Alright, for rating, I give you a 100/10. Yup, a 100/10. I wish I could write more, but now I'm drowning in a flood of tears. Your work of magic made me cry, and in return, chemicals have poured into my poor eyes (I have no idea what they are). So, once again, I LOVED YOU STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review! I was losing hope of anyone ever reviewing it again...You're exactly right, for some reason this story just seemed to write itself, I just sat at the computer and typed...I wish all stories wrote themselves like that! Once again, thanks for taking the time to review, I really appreciated it. PS. Sorry I made you cry!

Wow, I can't believe I'm the first to review this! It was beautifully written, not to mention heartbreaking. I nearly cried. You did a great job on this story!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, I was losing hope that anyone would ever review. I'm glad you liked the writing style. Thank you :-D
