yay! this was a great story :-) 1-shots are my favorite so you don't have to wait for authors to keep updating the stories...and this was really good

Author's Response: This is a VERY good thing, since I've been away so long. Fortunately, I haven't kept anyone waiting for the conclusion of any particular story.

Wow, I loved this story! I'm mainly interested in the marauders, and how sad their lives were, so I thought this was just such a great explanation of what happened to Sirius. Obviously, I loved the laughter/cry quote, but I also loved thinking about where memories are lost. Because I suppose its true, the worst thing the dementors can take from you are your memories. Because without memories, you aren't really anything but right here, right now. It really made me think, which I liked so I give it a 10/10!

Author's Response: Hooray! A ten! It was intended to make one think, which is perhaps why I like you so much, since you've actually given so much thought to it. The review gets a 10. :)

I like this story. It gives an answer to a much asked question, and it is just a little story of entertainment. :)

Author's Response: I'm always glad to entertain. :-)

This was a really wonderful read! I like how you tied i all into the books. Everything seemed very plausible, especially Sirius's desperation to talk to someone. With only a little description, you managed to paint a very vivid picture of everything.

I really (like everyone else) love the quote. Is it original or has someone said it? It's very poignant and meaningful and I read your story and all I can see now is Sirius forcing himself not to cry that night when he blasted the street open.

You've done a wonderful job of writing this! I truly enjoyed it!

Author's Response: It was originally a quote from a challenge in the forums, but the story got out of hand and overflowed the word count limit thing. (Love that author language!) So, unwilling to sacrifice my story, I moved it over here. Sorry to disappoint you -- the quote isn't mine. I don't really know its origin.

As so many others before, I shall comment on the quote. It was brilliant of you to give a reason for Sirius to laugh. He wasn't mad, he had been through the worst trauma of his life and the only way possible for him to cope with it was by laughing. Sometimes you have to laugh. . .just to keep from crying. Beautiful job.

Author's Response: Thank you! :-)

Author's Response: If one laughs when there is no reason, however small, that person must be mad. Sirius isn't mad, so he has to have a reason. I really liked that quote as well.

“And sometimes … well, sometimes you have to laugh, just to keep yourself from crying.” It seems everyone loved that quote, and I did to. I saw that in the summary and I was like, "Oh, I have to read this." That really was sad, although the word sad doesn't quite cover it correctly... oh, the limitations of words, sometimes. Sometimes. I really liked that.

Author's Response: Words have no limitations -- you have to believe that when you're an author. But, nonetheless, I know what you mean.

That was so sad, I know how Sirius felt when he said that. "Sometimes u have 2 laugh just 2 keep from crying" that is my new motto!! 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10...

Author's Response: Oo, I've inspired a motto! Wahoo! I know, I'll always love that quote, but that was the challenge part of it.

This was really really good. Your writing style is beautiful, and this story is really great. You captured everything perfectly. It is definitely fortunate that it was long enough to be put here. Keep writing!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it! I think it was fortunate, and -- forgive my lack of seemly modesty -- I think it was one of my best yet.
