Wow! What a great idea! I had fun reading it, although I am still a Severus/Lily fan. :) great job!
This was really good!
Brilliant story. And, okay, I may be a little dense, (to be honest, I am rather doped up on cold medicine,) but I just re-read the exchange between Dumbledore and Malfoy at the end of HBP and couldn't find what you were referencing. Help! Or I may not be able to sleep! (Okay...the NyQuil will probably make me sleep, but still...)
it really does give you something to think about. I really enjoyed it.
This was really great. I never thought of Severus having a relationship with Emmeline. That was really enjoyable to read. Good job!
Wow! This definitely has some twists. Very nice.
Fancy meeting you here! I really love this story. The way you keep us guessing about Snape to the very end is wonderful. I hope that he took way more credit for Emmaline's death than he deserved. Definately do a follow up to this story. Cheers!
That was great. I thought it was a little farfetched when I first started reading, but as I read on it really came all together! Good job!
I was so upset, I almost stopped reading in the middle! Thank goodness I didn't! Concerning Snape's status at the end: This was definitely a role I never imagined him playing--but, as DD thinks at the end, an excellent reason for the seeming treachery we see in HBP.
This story is simply beautiful. It really shows the side of Severus Snape that J.K. Rowling tries to keep hidden from us; the Severus Snape that Dumbledore trusted and had faith in. And you really surprised me. I must have glazed over her reference while reading and I didn't really take it into consideration later. It's a great story, and you're a great author. Thank you.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Jabberwocky! In another story, I almost shipped Snape with Emmeline Vance, but chose Hestia Jones at the last moment. Then I kicked myself when I read HBP because I really could've went on with it. :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed this!
I am amazed at the greatness of this story. And I hate you for writeing it. I for one was ready to write Snape off as a freaking jerk at the end of that book, for reasons I wish not to reveal (in case some one hasn't read the book yet.. you never know). That and I also don't like Snape. Well I just don't care to know much about him. I don't often read fics about him. But that doesn't mean I can't sing your praise. This was one hell of a fic. I don't know if any more is planned, but if not it was still amazingly awesome. And interesting thought on why Emmeline Vance Died.. or is thought to be dead.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, unseen. So you love me and you hate me; that seems to be the story of my life. :-) I am so happy you enjoyed this, even if you are not a Snape fan. I still think there's more to him than we've seen and I hope book 7 proves me right. Thanks again!
This is perfect. (considering that perfection doesn't exist) Anyway, it's brilliant. Really, I haven't read (yet) another story that fits so well. It's like the piece that it was missing. Keep it like this. You rock.
Author's Response: Of course perfection exists, darrena! My ex's ex-wife was the most perfect creature ever. And I heard about it all the time. :-) I am so glad you liked this! Thank you!
i can't believe how well that fits into cannon. i really really enjoyed it. 10/10
Author's Response: Thank you, Little Loony! I'm glad to hear that!
This is simply brilliant. As other reviewers have already mentioned, it's brilliantly in character, and fits remarkably well into the books. 10! (And I am an incredibly stingy rater).
Author's Response: Thank you, pathetic_pettigrew! I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much! This was my first attempt at Post-HBP and I'm glad it came off well!
One word can some this fic up: Wow. I just love it and it also seems so ... right. It is what I could actualy imagine to happen in the boks and I am glad that someone has taken the time to write of Emmeline Vance. There was nothing in this fic that was OOC which I am happy about. I've lost count of how many times I've stopped reading a fic because it was even slightly OOC.
I don't think I spotted anything wrong with this fic, so I don't think there is any way in which I can criticise. So ... Well done! An excellent fic and I will now go and search fpr more of your fics if you have any!
~Ermine the One~
Author's Response: Thank you so much, ermine the one! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Chapter 2 of HBP is definitely my favorite because you get to see another side of Snape. I hope you like the other stories as well.
I love this fan fiction, when you had her be killed and snape ws smiling I was like "GIT!"...or words to that affect... and then when i read the next bit I sighed a huge sigh of relief. I don't think Snape is really evil either. I think you did well. Snape romances are hard as whatever you do it will be OOC charecter but I think you really pulled it off and he sayed very much in charecter. well done I can't wait to read more of your work, this was a really interesting and original take on the murder of emmiline Vance (yes I know I more than likely spelt that wrong!) Keep up the great work! Rose. 10/10
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Rose! I am so happy you liked this! I really love Snape and I think JK Rowling put in a lot of effort to make him look guilty. In fact, I think she put so much effort into making him look guilty, that he can't possibly be guilty. :-) I am so happy you like this!
That was a unique twist on the nondescript and unacknowledged events of the Half Blood Prince. I've heard of your greatness when it came to writing Severus, but that was breath-takingly amazing. Perfectly in-character.
The plot was wonderfully developed. You really had me going with Emmeline's death; I thought for sure that she was dead. Though she remains alive with Daniel in tow now, we know a happy ending is not guaranteed for her and Severus. Also, she [Emmeline] was beautifully characterised in this.
Anyway, I have no criticism. There was a typo or two, but that's trivial and no one's perfect. I would really love to see a follow up to this. Maybe how Emmeline felt about what happened at the end of HBP? Well, whether there'll be a follow up or not, this was a great read. Thank you.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Lycanthropist! I had nearly paired Severus with Emmeline Vance in the past, so to hear him brag about being instrumental in her death... well, I figured there had to be another reason.
I really wanted to try to keep Snape ambiguous until the end, because I'm reasonably convinced that is what JK Rowling is doing.
I've had several people suggested follow-up, and I would love to do one, but the inspiration is not there right now. Perhaps one day. I am so happy you enjoyed this!
