This was wonderfully written, as are all your stories. I liked how Hermione decides to take her fate in her own hands, and not take loneliness lying down.

And freedom. Love, I left behind a long time ago.

I want permission to be myself. I want to walk down the halls of my school, of my world, without hearing the half-whispered remarks about me. I want to sit with my friends, and know that they appreciate my company, and not the fact that I can revise their homework.

I want to live.
I think that most people have experienced this feeling if they want to sti back and think about it deeply enough. I think that that's what makes those select few that have sat back so different - they look at these things. I think you've expressed Hermione's personality here quite well. I can really tell you the significance I find within it relating to myself because that would be awkward, but know that it is indeed there.

A very good story, I think. I liked how you stopped to give Hermione a reflective moment and the things she said of herself were all very believable. However, I wondered about the statment you were making about the trio's friendship. Are you saying that because Ron and Harry don't always show utmost appreciation for Hermione, that their friendship will not stand the tests of time? I really think that Hermione knows they appreciate her. Harry chooses her over Ron during the fourth book and Ron tells her he loves her in Halfblood Prince. That's why I'm curious as to what exactly you meant about their realationships.

I did like the bit about Neville, though. He really was Hermione's first friend, and first friends are ones you always hold dearest to your heart, in a sense. Especially if you've been alone so long.

I found the bit about "Even I watch Bruce Lee movies." hysterical. I can see Hermione smacking people upside the head for rude comments. She hit Malfoy once, she wouldn't hesitate again. :D

Lastly, I thought you ought to know that "pyjama" should be spelled "pamjama".

Excellent story.

Awesomley awesome :D It's deep, but doesnt have tons of excess large words. And it's Hermy-own, so it rocks.

That is slightly sad and depressing, but it shows that Hermione is strong despite all her troubles. I'm glad that she has Neville to stand by! Great job. This was really wonderful.

I love this. All your stories are so powerful with a lot of meaning. It really shows what's behind the surface. I mean, I agree with hermione: I've always been the clever one of the group, I'm not afraid to say it. My friends always call me a 'boff' and one even gave me a mug that said 'smarty pants' on it, I think she thought it would be funny (it was!). But I, too, have a friend who is loyal and kind and is not afraid to be herself too. Fate be damned, I don't give a damn if they call me a boffin, I have true friends too.

Amazing how much of Hermione you've captured in this short piece. I especially like how you reminded us that Neville was the first to befriend her and how she always try to help him because of that.

I love how you separate things to new paragraphs so to give them emphasis ... somehow like a free verse poetry (e.g. placing I want to live on it's own paragraph) . I had a suggestion for this line:

I read the silly rags that the girls in my dorm read. I seek knowledge, and truth.

And freedom. Love, I left behind a long time ago.

Although I would suggest that you place Love, I left behind a long time ago. on a new paragraph. It just seems to give more emphasis that way :)

Another very poetic and insightful piece. Great story, Seren!

Brilliant absolutely brilliant. I love your story, though Hermione never came to me as the brooding sort. That's Harry.

The first thing that leaps out at me in this fic is how hopeless and defeated Hermione seems at the beginning. I particularly love the line: “ And I am alone. The power this sentence alone has is incredible. I was expecting something along the same lines as this, but for some reason it just seemed to knock the wind out of me. Hard to explain really: I think it was because it followed the list of other, more generic Hermione traits.

LoL. I love the neighbour with the attention span of a turnip. A long deceased one. It was just so funny and something Hermione really would say, just like when she told Ron he had the emotional range of a teaspoon. However, I also adore the way you have drawn attention to why Hermione reads books, and why she finds comfort in them. She was lonely, and I suppose old habits die hard. It makes sense, and answers a question I have been wondering about.

”Fate gave me brains, and then took away my once long, smooth hair. Fate gave me cleverness, and then took away my ability to socialise properly. That's right; I may be brilliant, but when it comes down to the line, I'm socially retarded.” Oh this made me sad :-(. Poor Hermione. I want to give her a hug. And she sounds so bitter too.

I think that I will have to hug you! Neville is so adorable, and no one is ever nice to him. And never considers how much nicer he is than Ron and Harry. Sorry, but I love Neville. And I love that you made Hermione value Neville too.

Her rant is beautiful, and I can really see her character coming through perfectly. She doesn’t like to see people treated unfairly, and can’t stand it. This is why she started SPEW, after all.

OMG and I love the end. Excuse the fan-girlish word. Anyway, it’s gorgeous. As I said, I LOVE Neville, and now…HOW SWEET! Oh, I have nothing to complain about. This is such a gushy review. I love it. Sorry if that doesn’t help you, but I was hoping this would be an ego-booster for you. Anyway, will fave, do love.

You had me crying just as i read the Summary. My eyes watered for most of the story. It reminds me of myself, but I don't even have one really good friend. Sure I have loads of friends, but none of them are really that close. I feel like my best friends are my fantasy books which help me escape real life. I think that I relate to Hermione heaps, expesially your version. this is a very well written story, and I love it.

Wow...people in the general section are much harsher critics than in the Humor section. Everyone gives out 10's like they're Bertie Bott's Beans. Honestly, if I could write half as good as you, I'd boast nonstop about my pathetic stories. But, I like the way you make Hermione angry, and I don't mind her cursing. If you'd hear me, the bookworm, has-to-get-straight-A's, student, I curse a lot in my head, but never out loud. Well written. I come to you for emotion evoking stories, and I get it. Thank you, for not letting me down.

That was a really amazing story. I do think that Hermione was a bit angriere then she should have been, but it is probably how she really feels and just keeps hidden from the rest of the world. I also forgot that Neville was her first friend! I love the ending too. All together well done!

All right, bad news first: It's not your best story....Hermione was a little angrier than she ought to be. And I don't really like it when Hermione swears. It's just not her. Now...the good news! I really loved how you used fate all the time. It was poetic how you used repitition in a lot of the paragraphs. I also like how you said that Neville was Hermione's first friend. I had never thought of that that way. And now that I look at the books, Ron and Harry don't really give Hermione enough recongnition forr what she does for them. Not, your best, but far from worst. :) Good job. 7/10
