This story is fantastic. Please, please, please update soon!
omg. i have never cried so much in my life. sorry for not reviewing much but i just wanted to get to the next chapter asap. brilliant story!!! please update and consider writing another story that stems off of your two right now!!!!
That was so totally cool. If anyone wants 2 finish the chapter check it out at Fanfiction.net. It's amazing!!!
As much as I feel bad for Ron, it's nice to see someone who kind of know what Harry is going through. I like that Harry isn't the only one that is dealing with problems. I have to make a prediction and I am probably wrong: Percy will be the ministry observer. I hope I am wrong because I wish I could get into the story and slap the crap out of him!!!
Thank you so much for including that conversation with Blaise Zambini. I have always been struggling with thinking that if all Slytherins were death eaters, then why were they allowed at Hogwarts in the first place. I like the fact that Blaise said he agrees with some of Voldemorts ideals, but not his methods. It is totally realistic... just the way things are in the real world.
why is this chapter rated R did i miss something??? very well written and i enjoying it greatly!!!!
OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was an amazing chapter!!!!! Oh and thanks for the tissue alert...^_^. I loved the part where Harry got to go back and see his parents and Sirius, it just seemed right. And I also like the fact that he got to watch what was happening while he was there too. Ahhh...I hope that Neville will be okay. Poor Ginny but GOSH DARNIT Harry needs her. Ron is right when he says that she is hurting Harry. I just hope she comes to her senses pretty soon. Harry was realllllllly funny when he was on the pain medicine and acting all goofy. Well great chapter!!! And what happened to the rest of the story...it just like stopped in the middle of potion, I think.
Wow Melinda... WOW!!!! Your final battle scene was simply amazing and this was so good, so different. Normally, it goes to Harry waking up or something and everything is alright but you straight out say what is good AND bad from the war. I loved it... truly did. I am so happy you let Harry see his parents and Sirius. GO LILY! BEAT UP PETUNIA! and i thought it was funny how Dumbledore and Flamel are like the marauders... haha. anyway, the pain potion was quite funny but I'm getting a bit angry at Ginny! GO SEE HARRY! arg... I think its sort of funny too how Harry falls asleep during the conversation with Hermione. I praise you. I have been waiting this chapter for what seemed like years! lol. It was wonderful and exceeded my expectations. please please please update as soon as possible! can't wait for the next chaper! 12/10... by the way, funny ending.
WOW Melinda. Where can I start? I thought that Harry meeting his parents would be cheesy but you totally pulled it off; I almost cried! Dudley, the heaven type place, Ginny, Hermione, What Dumbledore and NF were getting up to; it was all so perfect. I LOVE this fic; it truly will always be my favorite! And Ron lived! Wehey! Please let Nevielle be OK; although it would make sense for there to have been some loss in the battle; but pehaps you could just ignore that and make it end happily ever after? Can't wait till next week. xx Lexi xx 1000000000000000000000000 out of 10. Feel free to add your own commas.
OMG! That post was so so so so soooo GOOD! You did a terribly AWESOME job writing this! Harry and Ron lived! :) I'm glad everyone's somewhat okay, though I really hope Neville comes out of it. It would be just awful if he was destined the same fate as his parents. By the way, I thought the meeting between Harry and his parents was written perfectly. I loved it! I do have one question though that I'm a bit confused on: How much time has passed since they've been down in the Chamber? How long has Harry been in the hospital wing? This fanfic is definately my favorite, and again, GREAT JOB!
I'm reviewing here even though the last few paragraphs of the chapters are lost, I've read it all elsewhere though.
Oh, quite right with a tissue warning there! Not the worst one of your chapters though, I must add. :) Despite how sad, angsty and beautiful this was, I found it a little anti-climax. I had expected something with a hurried departure from the Chamber as all of it crasched down, so it took me a little while to fully appreciate the scenes in mid-life/death, and the rest of it. I'm relieved that the four most important characters made it, although I still hope that Neville won't meet the same fate as his parents - it would be so unfair. Ginny is... different from what I expected, even with what she's been through I would have thought her love for Harry was still as strong. Bad for Harry too, he chose to return for her, and she avoids him. What's Ginny thinking, she should be glad! (This is my own person scolding her, I still think she's well written and believable, I'm just angry with her)
Oh, the scenes with Sirius, James and Lily were wonderful, especially how you put them in the beautiful, colourful robes while Harry was all in white. Their words on Ginny (""And easy on the eyes," said James."), on life and death, and the jokes about their grandchildrens' names... *sigh* Where is that tissue, now? The short words on Dumbledore were comforting to me, especially in combination with Sirius' envy of the Headmaster's re-discovered mischief. Interesting, as well, that it was to be James who revealed the artist behind Lily's portrait. Harry's longing for both worlds was so obvious, clear, and expertly written. In one way, he knew that the only right choice was to return to Ginny, but on the other hand - "After a moment, he pulled away, knowing that if he didn’t, his decision would already be made."
Skeeter cow got what she deserved, thank you for that. What an awful character.
Now, I thought I was desperate waiting for this chapter, but I assure you it's nothing like how I feel about the next one. I need it! I hope that Ginny is going to come to her senses - soon. And again, thank you for sharing this story!
This isn't my review... but what happened to the rest of the post? It just stops in the middle of the sentence....
......... (there is nothing to say to this person he is perfect in ever way the death eaters, voldmort, harry, ron, ginny, the twins, them all, the curse of the damned and the ppl involed in it, the potshon curse, the end...... no there is nothing th say th this person ecsept 2000000 out of 10 now all i have to do is stop talking in my head) .......... 2000000 out of ten
You are killing me here! I have been looking EVERYWHERE for chapter 30 and I cant find it! I swear, one more day and im gonna EXPLODE!! This is the best story I have ever read, even better than the origional Harry Potters!! Peez update soon!!! -100000000-
That was... That was overwhelming! I can see how much work you must have put into this final battle, so to begin with - thank you for doing so! Now, let's see if I can dig a little deeper... (actually had to take short notes so to remember what to mention on this one!)
Firstly, I have mentioned before how nicely in characther almost all characthers are all the time, and now that includes Voldemort. When he spoke of the Curse of the Damned I was almost horrorstruck - it was so true, it seems to be natural for everyone to think of "old magic" as something especially nice and powerful, but his words about them could easily have been as true. (Thank Merlin they weren't!). As we're on to words, I really like Harry's realisation of them being weapons, he has been teasing Death Eaters and Voldemort before but this time it was in a full-fledged way, a more mature way. N-i-c-e!
Naturally, Luna's death was nothing I had ever wished for, but if someone close had to be sacrificed, well, then I'm not going to object to her.
Ooh, I didn't like the burning liquid - I hope whatever it was will heal properly without leaving any nasty scars - I think Harry has had enough worry about scars for a lifetime.
The brief line where Harry was struck and had to spit out some blood, for some reason it caught my attention and made it all much more real and colourful. I agree with the other reviewer, I'm not like Bellatrix who enjoys pain, but it does make the whole thing very truthful.
The result of the old curse was brilliantly written, but I have to mention that all of those people were not killed by Voldemort, especially Sirius. But if the explanation is that they were killed because of his evil, that's good enough for me.
I'm worried about the AK touching Harry's left side, for Merlin's sake don't let there be any lasting damage from that, please!
So far, this is the best Final Battle I've come across, right now I can't think of a better way to defeat him (the velvety softness and sweet bliss of her allowing him to continue… - p-e-r-f-e-c-t!). I really like how you kept us aware of the similarites between Harry and "Tom", and used it all to the end.
Honestly, Melindaleo, this was just GREAT! *only a little over-excited*
Now - I want chapter 30!
oh, i forgot one small itsy bitsy thing.... UUPPDDATTEE SOON OR I WILL DIE!!! YOUR CLIFFS ARE SO GOOD THAT I CAN'T STAND IT WHEN YOU STICK THEM IN!!!!
i'll say it again: wow. Melindaleo, you are by far the best writer i've ever come across by reading fanfiction! Your story is amazing and true to jkr's books. your story is my lifeline! i'm PRAYING that i won't be disappointed with hbp and book 7 after reading power of emotion and curse of the damned. If possible (with the remaining characters) you MUST write a sequel about life after Hogwarts! PLEASE DON'T LET RON BE DEAD!!!!! even though i love you and your stories, i will HATE you( a little) if he's dead!!! i'm with madam b on this one. read her awesome review on fanfiction.net to see what i mean. i say ditto to her review. 870321601365213965gazillion/10!!!
Ah... poor Luna! Please don't kill Ron and Harry! Voldemort's finally dead! Great, AWESOME post! I really appreciate how you thought this story through and kept a realistic plot line. A lot of authors have trouble plugging in everything that they mention throughout the story and end up ruining the ending... but you really did a great job with this story! Great battle scene! Keep up the excellent work... and please post more story soon!
Wow. Just...wow. You really deserve a long review in praise of this chapter, but I am speechless. This was simply brilliant--you've tied together everything that you've written since the beginning of The Power of Emotion and done so in truly magnificent style. I especially loved Cedric's line--so simple, and yet, so heartwrenching. Great job.
