Okay, you have a decent plot here, but your tone is completely unPotteresque. Hermione sounds more like a catty American valley girl than an intelligent, practical witch. You also have a hard time maintaining past and present tense. This would be a very good fic, but it would have to be different characters than the ones you have now.
