Ahaha I love snape's reactions!
I read this story once many years ago, but it has often been on my mind. I think this is the first Snape centered fic that I read and it is what started me off to become a crazed snape fangirl! Thank you for writing such a memorable story and I am glad to finally have time to re-read this.
Athene is one of my favorite original characters that I have read and that includes 5 years of reading fan-fics. Now I'm off to reaquaint myself with the woman and her issues! Thanks

This has turned out to be my absolute favorite SS/OC fic, and I'm reading it again now, after about a year, because I loved it so much.
I wanted to comment that the line where Snape is going, "Loves me, loves me, loves me," is somehow heartbreaking and hysterically funny at the same time. Your whole story is like that, and I think that's the absolute perfect way to write Snape.
I know you wrote this before Book Six, but I find your use of the Grey Lady and the Bloody Baron even more interesting in light of what we learned about them in Deathly Hallows! Congrats on being a visionary, without even trying!
Anyway, thanks again for one of my favorite stories on Mugglenet.
omg- sev has a black duvet!! lol
I loved this story. So far my favorite on this site.
I have to say, I think this is my favorite SS/OC fic I've read so far. Athene is the perfect match for him, just as gruff and stubborn as he is. People always seem to be too kind to Severus, making up reasons why he really wasn't such an arrogant berk after all, but you haven't pulled any punches. He's the same prickly Potions professor we read about in canon, but you manage to make him sympathetic anyway. Thanks for sharing this great story with us.
I really like your story, I know you must get that alot becouse its really funny. I hope you are working on a 4th story (potters bar is my all time favorite and I absulutly love how you portray snape) so errrrr..... WRITE
There are a lot of Snape/OC fics out there, and not that many that manage to pull it off. This one does! :) Snape stays IC, Athene is a very cool character (and not too cliched, either!) and their relationship blooms realistically and yet very romantically! Plus, I really enjoyed your Dumbledore. A really great (and quite humorous!) fic!
Oh, I do love a dramatic entrance! That usually makes for dramatically good stories, hehe. I must say I am quite impressed by the first taste of your OC! Did you know that Athene is the Dutch translation of Athena? Is there a reason why she's named Athene instead of Athena? Or am I ruining plotlines with my questions now? Hehe. I have noticed that this stoy was written before HBP, which probably makes it ooc, what with Dumbledore being alive and Snape still being a teacher. Sometimes I like to crawl back to the times that all could still end well though. Don't you wish sometimes that JK had just left it like this for us? Aaaaanyway, back to the story, which is after all what I'm here for.
Snape is much the brooding person in this chapter, and I just loooved the way McGonagall and Hooch were reprimanding him like two old ladies. I wonder how they know each other... Intriguing, intriguing!
I absolutely loved your story! It is wonderful beyond words for me, if you have other writings I would love to read them!
great so far!
brilliant story and plot line!
I love the part with Lupin!
Two years ago i took class on english history, and my professor, in explaining english geography to his canadian students, remarked that when ever some needed to hide in history they always seemed to go to the eastmidlands. He was a fabulous professor that insisted we could not understand 20th century british history without the music of 'the clash'.
On a differnt note i simply adore your use of a sophistocated vocabulary!
This was such a great fic! I love snape fics and you did an excellent job in depicting him! He was completely in character the entire time and i had no problem picturing all of this happening! I also think that your OC was perfect for him. Athen'll keep the greasy bastard in line, that's for sure!
You have to write a sequal!!!! I wanna see Sevy-kins propose! Or Athen propose to Sevy-kins! (something i can easily see happening. She'd probably take matters into her own hands and force him into it somehow... hehe.)
wow that was wuite funny.
woah, u r a great writer.
ooh i can't wait to find out how snape knows her. the way you discribe her makes her look like hermione without the dirtiness.
Uh-oh (sinister music)
Ah yes, everyone knows that those who bear chocolate couldn't possibly be bad. Not really.
