Summary: Marlene McKinnon, raised in a care home from the age of seven, is with the perfect man -- or, at least, as close to perfection as she can get, anyway. One small problem: Jamal is a Muggle, and telling him anything about Marlene's real world would jeopardise the Statute of Secrecy. Meanwhile, unable to confide in her partner about the Order, Marlene turns to Sirius Black instead.

And though sparks fly, Marlene is caught between the two, unable to choose between comfort and the truth.

Shaun -- I'm very sorry, but I don't think I dare take on a chaptered fic of that length at the moment. In a couple of months, I'll be getting very busy with exams again and will probably have to take a break from betaing. Even if I worked through your story at one chapter per week, I wouldn't be able to finish before my start exams. That would mean me leaving you mid-story, and I don't think it would really be fair of me to take on something I know I won't really be able to finish. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss it further, but I'm pretty sure you'd be better asking someone else.
