I have just recently become active on this site after spending a long time lurking I have a one shot that is ready to be looked at, and I am also working on a chaptered story. I could use some help with grammar (I'm struggling with past tense), and also some tips on Brittish language and expressions.

Rating and Warnings:6th/7th years: Character Death, Slash (Ok so there isn't really anything, just a lesbian character, but I thought I'd put it in just in case), Strong Profanity
Word Count: All together including the chapters that are already up, about 23,500, I think? But each chapter is usually only 2,500.
One Shot or Chaptered: Chaptered.
What I especially need help with: Primarily, I'd say I need help with plot development and characterization, especially with Sirius, Peter, and my OC. I'm also American, so help with Britishisms and everything would be great, too.
Summary:
The story follows the Marauders from the beginning of their sixth year to the end of their seventh. James and Lily are still at odds, Peter is dealing with questions of loyalty, Remus is struggling with family problems and a crush on Lily, and Sirius is maybe possibly even falling in love?

Sounds horribly cliché (maybe something you could help me with?), I know. But anyway, I'm now starting to introduce issues like the Death Eaters, etc. into the plot, and generally I think I want it to be more serious. Hopefully by the end it will be more coming-of-age-story-with-hard-decisions than typical-Marauders-are-hot-Snape-is-not whatever. (Which doesn't mean they're not hot).
