A/N: I'm glad the thread isn't closed yet! Busy day.

Her little fingers curl tightly around my thumb. It never fails to awe me, the innocence in a newborn’s face.

Mum pushes me aside and my heart cries out. How can she think she can duel Bellatrix Lestrange? How can my mother – the woman who rocked me to sleep, bandaged my scrapes, kissed my tears away – take on the deranged witch who tortured Neville’s parents into insanity?

Though I’ve just seen her face for the first time, already I love her enough that I’d do anything for her. I’ll live for her. Die for her. Kill for her.

The ornament she had flung at him shattered as it contacted with the closing door, showering the floor with slivers of glass. She sank into the couch-- chest heaving, blood boiling. What did he think, disrespecting her, disrespecting their noble family, disrespecting their cherished ideals? Revulsion coursed through her body, a revulsion even she was shocked to feel for her own son.

Sirius banged the door behind him, barging onto the streets. He finally felt freeófree of malignant notions of superiority, free of over-bearing, nauseating family and free of the need to pretend that he didnít hate them.
A/N: I twisted the prompt to suit me-- hate, after all, is simply a form of love. The absence of love.

A/N: I should be writing my thesis but I need a mental break.

Albus would never have blood children of his own, and he would never get married. Yet through being the Head of House for Gryffindor, he had had dozens of children, and when he became Headmaster, he had even more. If he loved the Gryffindors a little more, well, he tried not to show it too much.

The Gryffindors had adored him as the Head of House, and he enjoyed being their surrogate father away from home. He watched them grow, fall down, fall in love... and all too often during the War, he watched them die.

I really enjoyed reading everyone's drabbles, but there can only be one winner.

So, earning Ravenvlaw an extra 5 points, the winner is:
