Hannah lifted her fingers to her face and brushed them against her lips, the ghost of a kiss. Suddenly she was back there, standing in the dark, deserted corridor, the twisted remains of a suit of armour scattered about them. They both knew that a vast army lay before them.
‘We’ll get through this,’ he said, putting an arm around her shoulders and staring intently at her. Suddenly, he moved towards her and their lips touched, in a brief, wonderful, soft kiss.
Suddenly the vision was gone, and she was simply alone.
