Something in the way his amber hair glowed in the sunlight made her stop. And stare.
He walked across the clearing and took her hand, gazing into her dark eyes. “You okay?” he asked, his voice hardly louder than a murmur.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” she said, tucking a strand of her dark hair behind her ear. “Just worried about the Tournament, that’s all.”
He laughed. “There’s nothing to worry about.”
She looked down, not convinced.
Suddenly, she felt his hands cupping either side of her face. He leaned down, brushed his lips against hers. She shivered at her first kiss.
