Effects of potions.

I was thinking of incorporating The Draught of the Living Dead into my fic, but I'm not sure about a few things. I'm not sure if the books mention how long the effects last or if there's an antidote. Any specific info? If not, theories?

I think there is a reason the potion is called the Draught of Living Death. It implies that it cannot be countered.

Tim makes a good point. I think that you'd just have to wait for the effect to wear off.

The one that takes the potion is supposed to fall into a deep sleep, maybe he'd wake up in a few days.

What we do know about it from Snape's little rant is that it is a very powerful sleeping potion, probably one of the most powerful in the world.

Though I doubt it would be fall-asleep-for-ten-years powerful. I remember in the story Good Night, Princess, little Lily began complaining when her father began tearing apart the logic of her fairy tales, like saying there was no such thing as a potion that could have kept Sleeping Beauty asleep for all those years.
