I have the same problem. I tried posting something in the Skele-grow section and I also had a KGB agent telling me I was not authorized to post anything.Originally Posted by Sapphire at Dawn

And to add to the list of problems, I find myself unable to send private messages. Is anyone else having this problem?
My brand new trailer for Snape Didn't Die by thegirllikeme to serve as a constant source of inspiration whilst I write!
Yes, all of these problems are related to the server switch. Roxy is working with the mainsite to get it all taken care of.

Hello mods,
I realize there's been some issues with the server lately, so this probably isn't top priority but I PMed SortingHat asking for a sorting quiz, a week and a half ago and I haven't heard anything yet.
Should I PM SortingHat again?
Thanks

What did you think Aida Luthien meant? Haven't you heard of Verdi or Tolkein?
Hello,
I know this too is probably related to the new server etc etc, but I'm not getting all my email notifications for reviews and PM's. All the thread subscription emails are coming through.
Just thought I should let you know

Aida - I will log on to the Sorting Hat account and see what's up there. Sorry for your wait.
Carole - I'll check your account settings, just to cover all the bases. (but yes, this server thing is throwing a wrench in everyone's life, isn't it?)

Edit: Carole, everything checks out so I'm afraid all I can suggest is patience. Sorry!
Carole - I actually know the reason for your question for a change! *yay* With the new server we have lost our mailing system - all mods are having to get new accounts which includes the staff@fanfiction.mugglenet.com account that used to send out all the notifications. We're working on getting a new email system set up for this so I'll see what I can do to get them back online as soon as possible. Thank you for mentioning this! It hadn't crossed my mind that notifications would be affected by the lack of email system.
Aida - There's no need to contact the sorting hat again. If your message went through, you'll be sorted eventually. With the recent downtime I'm guessing there's a bit of a backlog of people wanting to get sorted and as a lot of our mods are busy people, they just haven't gotten to you yet. Sit tight, you'll find out your house soon!
Edit: Note to self, check the viewing this thread list before replying. Thanks Nikki

Just wanted to let you know, everything works, and I can change and edit my signature, but I can't change my avatar. It won't even let me change to the standard house avatars, much less change my own. Just wondering if it's my internet or a bug.

Elene - As far as we can see, everything is still related to switching servers. I know it's not a very pleasant or reassuring answer. (I had the same problems, by the way.) We all hope this clears up soon!

I have a request. (Sorry if this isn't the right thread, but I figured "Ask a Moderator" would be a good place for this).
I once had a story rejected here for the reason that it was a scriptfic. That was the reason I was given: scriptfics are not accepted.
I humbly request that this be put into your submission rules and guidelines, as there is absolutely nothing in the current guidelines to suggest that "scriptfics" are not accepted.
In addition, I would request that scriptfics be defined.
My fic was told in predominantly dialogue fashion, with quotation marks and dialogue tags. My understanding is that a scriptfic goes something like this:
Harry: blah blah blah blah
Ron: a bunch of words
Harry: ditto
Ron: blah blah blah blah
When I asked the moderator for a description of a scriptfic (along with my citing of a fic that I had found already published on the site which was told in dialogue fashion), he/she then replied that my fic had no discernable plot. Okay, that I could handle. But then, please tell me that in the first rejection letter.

The moderator also said that you all were working on revising the submission rules to include the rule that scriptfic would not be allowed.
Well, anyway....if this is the case, it would be nice to see it in the submission rules and guidelines. I've been away for a few years.
And today, as I looked through the Humor category, I found at least one fic (from October 2009) told *totally* in dialogue, with neither dialogue tags nor narrative.
So, is "scriptfic" allowed, or not?
Thank you for your time.![]()
(edited to close parentheses earlier up in the message, and to fix some spelling. Hope I got everything.)
