Hello Dieter. I only have a few paltry questions for you, but I'm sure you'd be willing to oblige.

Do you hear much regarding one Albus Dumbledore, of Great Britain? He has quite the reputation, so I've heard.

If the Triwizard Tournament was ever held again between Durmstrang, Hogwarts, and Beauxbatons, would you be interested in competing, even if you must travel to a foreign school to do so?

How do you feel about the Fuhrer's annexation of Czechoslovakia?

Do you believe in government accountability?

Guten Tag, Angel of Dreams. Interesting name...

Do you hear much regarding one Albus Dumbledore, of Great Britain? He has quite the reputation, so I've heard.

Sorry, I've never heard of him. But then again, being Muggle-born, I don't know a lot of things that wizard-born students know. Maybe I'll ask Konrad if he's heard of this Albus Dumbledore.

If the Triwizard Tournament was ever held again between Durmstrang, Hogwarts, and Beauxbatons, would you be interested in competing, even if you must travel to a foreign school to do so?

Well, I have no idea what the Triwizard Tournament is, but it sounds big and important. What do you do in this tournament, by the way?

If eligible, I would be interested in going, no matter where it is located. I am not afraid to go to foreign places, and besides, it would be a good opportunity to be an representative of sorts for my nation and race.

How do you feel about the Fuhrer's annexation of Czechoslovakia?

Don't forget the umlaut in Führer...

The annexation ended the oppression of Germans living in Czechoslovakia. Now that that country is no more, the Aryans of the region can live in peace and without fear of harassment and persecution.

Do you believe in government accountability?

Well, sure, I suppose. A government must do what is best for its citizens, and must be held responsible for its actions. The NSDAP does everything in its power to protect and ensure the welfare of Aryans in Germany and elsewhere, and it has delivered on its promises. That is why we have taken action against Jews, communists, and other domestic enemies; and why we have moved against Czechoslovakia and now Poland. Their governments were turning a blind eye to the oppression of Germans within their borders, so we moved in to ensure that justice prevailed.

    ~ Dieter Heydrich

Dieter, Dieter! It's not again. I hear that Tim has gone back to school, so I assume you are with him as well. Molly and I are back at Catholic school, but we are at least not living with the nuns again. You can never do anything when you are afraid that Sister Lois might knock on the door at any moment!

Anyway, Molly sent me bearing Back-to-School questions!

You have said you plan on 'saving' the school from the subhuman population. How do you plan on doing that exactly?

Have you tried to tell any of your classmates about Naz...National Socialist ideals? See, Nate Rivers is capable of learning!

Is it tough not being able to tell your Muggle friends about what you are facing at Durmstrang? I'm sure they would have been more than willing to offer some suggestions.

What have you noticed about the political atmosphere at Durmstrang? Are there any other strong Naz--National Socialists at your school?

What more have you been learning about Grindelwald's politics? How does it sit with your current political standings?

If you could replace one of your teachers with a trained chimp, which one would it be?

    Brand New Story!

Banner by lullaby_BANG. Completely awesome avi came from here!

My brand new trailer for Snape Didn't Die by thegirllikeme to serve as a constant source of inspiration whilst I write!

You again. Well, school is treating my author well. I'm surprised he's managed to write anything since it began.

You have said you plan on 'saving' the school from the subhuman population. How do you plan on doing that exactly?

I confess I don't really know. I don't have a plan yet, but I know it must be done. I think getting Karkaroff expelled somehow is a good place to start.

Have you tried to tell any of your classmates about Naz...National Socialist ideals? See, Nate Rivers is capable of learning!

Yes, I have. Konrad finds parts of it interesting, even if he doesn't completely understand it. Also, a lot of the girls didn't really appreciate my comments about their role as future wives and mothers, though.

I've had thoughts of starting up a Hitler Youth group at Durmstrang. I miss the camping trips, and I think some other kids might find it interesting.

Is it tough not being able to tell your Muggle friends about what you are facing at Durmstrang? I'm sure they would have been more than willing to offer some suggestions.

Well, yes. I don't like having to lie to them, and I would very much like to talk to them about magic and Durmstrang. If you are referring to the Slavic situation, I haven't mentioned anything of the sort to my Muggle friends, but my father does know about it. He said that there were more important things for me to worry about, but I beg to differ.

What have you noticed about the political atmosphere at Durmstrang? Are there any other strong Naz--National Socialists at your school?

I'm on the lookout for them, for I'm sure there are more people like me at Durmstrang. I know of a Muggle-born German girl, but really... she's a girl.

What more have you been learning about Grindelwald's politics? How does it sit with your current political standings?

Grindelwald says that all wizards and witches are equal, and have a responsibility to use our abilities for the greater good, by whatever means necessary. I do agree that magic is not an issue of birth or Blood status, but rather of individual ability.

However, I think that the wizarding leader is mistaken in including sub-humans in this egalitarian magical society. All Germans and Aryans are by all means equal and comrades, but to insist that all wizards, including Slavs, are at the same level as us is simply insane. They're not even human!

If you could replace one of your teachers with a trained chimp, which one would it be?

Without a doubt, Professor Simonov. A trained chimp would be a much better and nicer teacher! And now that you mention it, Simonov teaches History of Magic like a chimp would, probably. He seems to think that bashing facts into our heads would make us learn.

Thanks for the questions, Nate. I'm surprised that you were actually civil, today!

(Jupp insisted on stopping by. He's quite fascinated.)

Hallo, Dieter! It's me again, Jupp Haupt.

So, you really are from the past! It's amazing what magic can do, isn't it?
Anyways, I wanted to ask you some questions about yourself, and a bit about the Fatherland that you know. My Onkels were all in the Hitler Jugend, and Rolf is still a Nazi, though he’s got to hide it, or he’d be arrested. And my father, he’s named for Adolf Hitler. At least, that’s what Onkel Freddie told me.

What’s it like living in Deutschland before Thälmann Pionere and solidarity and everything? I mean, during the war, before - with Hitler in power? Do you really enjoy it? Do you really believe in what they tell you - all that racism and religion and fanaticism? I don’t mean to be rude, but you go against everything I’ve ever been taught about the National Socialist movement and the Third Reich. You’re really happy there?

In the Pioneers and the FDJ we went to summer camp and had meetings at school, where we’d sing songs and do pledges and whatever else. And we had a uniform of sorts. In the Pioneers it was a necktie (blue for the really young kids and red for the oldest ones) with a white shirt and whatever sort of trousers you had. When you join the FDJ the uniform is a dark blue shirt and black trousers, with the FDJ symbol of the rising sun on the sleeve. We wear them at parades and things. It’s said that we are the future of Germany - the most important generation. In your Germany, are you told the same? What are you uniforms like for the Hitler Jugend? Do you do the same sorts of activities we do? Summer camps and songs?

You haven’t got to answer all of these, of course. I’m writing a lot, I know. I’m very curious.

What are you going to do when you’re an adult?

Do you want to be in the military?

What are your opinions on Mocca Fix Gold? Spreewald-Gurken? Schlager-Süsstafel?

When you spoke to me last time you mentioned a Volkswagen. Is that the automobile everyone drives in your Germany? Have your family got one? Are they better than the Trabi? (Wouldn’t be hard. Trabi’s are terrible cars.)

At your Durmstrang you mention Mudbloods are allowed. Why? You said something about a Chancellor Grindelwald. Was he as terrible as everyone say? What was he like?

You said something about Karkaroff. At my Durmstrang he teaches History of Magic. Though, it’s not really a history. More like a thousand reasons why Muggles shouldn’t exist, Wizards are superior, and the years of 1933 to 1945 aren’t in our books, as nobody dares write about them. What’s your Karkaroff like? Ours is a nasty git. Is yours the same? Do me a favour, if he is, and convince him to walk off a cliff sometime soon, so I haven’t got to deal with him anymore in my time.

What is your Headmaster called? Ours is Vasiliy Lufkin. I don’t know much about him, except that he’s very Russian, very tall, and was a member of the Knights of Walpurgis - whatever they are - back in the 1950’s.

Hallo, Dieter! It's me again, Jupp Haupt.

    And Hallo to you.

So, you really are from the past! It's amazing what magic can do, isn't it?

Yes, I am from the past, from your perspective. How long did it take for you to figure that out?

Anyways, I wanted to ask you some questions about yourself, and a bit about the Fatherland that you know. My Onkels were all in the Hitler Jugend, and Rolf is still a Nazi, though he’s got to hide it, or he’d be arrested. And my father, he’s named for Adolf Hitler. At least, that’s what Onkel Freddie told me.

The term is National Socialist, not 'Nazi'. You, of all people, should know that.

What is it like, living in my time? That's a pretty big question. I would say that it is infinitely better than the future you describe.

Yes, I am happy under National Socialism. And really, you are using some pretty harsh words in describing it, Jupp. The NSDAP has awakened and invigorated the German people. After the Great War, we Germans were humiliated, downtrodden, and destitute, but now we have reason to be proud. Under Hitler, people have jobs, are free from fear, and are united in common purpose. I think National Socialism is the best thing that has happened to this country - it's sure better than what it used to be like.

Though I am technically in the Hitler Jugend (as the term applies to the youth movement as a whole), I am actually a member of the Deutsches Jungvolk - that's the junior branch of the Hitler Jugend. The DJ is for boys aged 10 through 14, and the HJ for boys 15 through 18. However, our uniforms are pretty much the same for both age levels.

Our uniforms are seasonal - summer and winter. But sometimes the youth leaders have us wear the thin summer uniforms during the winter, because that's supposed to build character and make us tougher. Anyway, the standard summer uniform is a brown/khaki shirt and black lederhosen (held with a belt, not suspenders). We also have red armbands (worn on the left shoulder) with a white stripe and black swastika in the middle, but these are generally worn for formal occasions and not field activities. Our neckerchiefs are black, as are our shoulder tabs. On the left shoulder, we have a triangular unit patch, and on the right breast pocket is the DJ emblem, which is a white S rune on a black background. The winter uniform is simply a black jacket worn over the summer uniform, plus long black trousers.

And yes, we do go on campouts and sing songs and raid the Jungmädelbund camps and fun things like that.

You haven’t got to answer all of these, of course. I’m writing a lot, I know. I’m very curious.

    I can see that.

What are you going to do when you’re an adult?

I don't really know. When I was little, I wanted to be like my favourite fictional character, Sky Captain Otto von Von and fly a Zeppelin around the world. That's not going to happen, though. A bit more realistically, I've thought about being a fighter pilot (I like aeroplanes and have a few books on the subject), and I've even considered a future in the Schutzstaffel. I don't exactly know what I would do in the SS, so maybe my attraction is the uniforms more than anything else.

However, after discovering that I am a wizard has opened up a whole bunch of possibilities. I quite like Defensive Magic class, so something involving that - like joining the ZVK - would be interesting.

Generally though, I haven't really thought about what I want to do as an adult - it's not something I'm concerned with, at the moment. However, my interests do seem to revolve around fighting bad guys.

Do you want to be in the military?

See my answer for the previous question.

What are your opinions on Mocca Fix Gold? Spreewald-Gurken? Schlager-Süsstafel?

Are these food brands I've never heard of? I have no opinions on any of them, since I don't recognise those names. Sorry.

When you spoke to me last time you mentioned a Volkswagen. Is that the automobile everyone drives in your Germany? Have your family got one? Are they better than the Trabi? (Wouldn’t be hard. Trabi’s are terrible cars.)

The Volkswagen is supposed to be the people's car, but nobody in my hometown actually owns one (yet), so I can't tell you if they're better than the Trabant. What kind of engine does the Trabant have? For comparison, the Volkswagen has a flat, four-cylinder, four-stroke motor.

Gemüsestadt is small enough to walk everywhere you need, or take a bicycle. My family has no intention of ordering a Volkswagen, but the neighbours I mentioned previously have. There aren't many vehicles in my town at all - a couple of lorries, a fire engine dating from 1913 (it has wood-spoke wheels), and the town Gemeinschaftsleiter's Opel Kadett.

At your Durmstrang you mention Mudbloods are allowed. Why? You said something about a Chancellor Grindelwald. Was he as terrible as everyone say? What was he like?

    Don't say 'Mudblood'.

Why do people say Grindelwald is terrible? I've even seen him, and he's quite an impressive, charismatic man. All Grindelwald wants to do is make life better for all the world's wizards - to have magical people unite in common fellowship and bring peace and order to the world. Or to use his oft-quoted phrase, do everything "for the greater good." I think these aims are pretty reasonable, but plenty of foreigners denounce Grindelwald as a dangerous radical bent on upsetting established things.

Anyway, Muggle-borns are admitted to Durmstrang because Grindelwald says that blood-status is meaningless, since all wizards are comrades and ability is the only thing that matters.

As I see him, Grindelwald fancies himself a philanthropist with only the best of intentions for all, but he doesn't care how many people need to die in order to create his wizarding utopia. In his view, the slaughter and murder of thousands is justified if the end result is a world where all wizards and Muggles live in peace (but with wizards in charge, of course).

Nothing has changed. Igor Karkaroff was, is, and will forever be a nasty git in the past, present, and future. Doesn't matter what time you are in.

I don't need to convince him to walk off a cliff. I'll probably just push him off myself.

What is your Headmaster called? Ours is Vasiliy Lufkin. I don’t know much about him, except that he’s very Russian, very tall, and was a member of the Knights of Walpurgis - whatever they are - back in the 1950’s.

The head of my school is actually called a Rector, not a Headmaster. Anyway, his name is Wotan Steiger, and he is a complete bore. The most interesting thing about him is that he has a bad comb-over, and a slightly squeaky voice. I have no idea why such a boring person is the Rector, but I suppose it's because he does all the complicated administrative work. The person who actually interacts with human beings is Professor Odoaker, the Deputy Rector (consider him second in command).

Well, it was nice talking to you, Jupp.

Hee-llo, Dieter. I saw that we both happen to nominated for the same QSQ award! Molly says it's bad form to glaut, but I think the past few posts of good manners should allow me a little leeway.

    So, ha ha!

Tell me Dieter, what will you do if I do end up winning the QSQ award?

What will you do if good old boy Max wins it?

Do you think Tim deserves a little credit if you were to win the award?

I don't think I ever told you what year it is where I am, but what do you imagine the year 2005 is like? That's right, I'm a scary future spaceman!

Hello Leonard. Nice to meet new faces here.

If you could replace any of your fellow first-years with a slug, who would it be?

Well, this is a very easy question! I think Igor Karkaroff would make a great slug!

What do you know about Houston, TX?

I've never heard of Houston - is it a place, or a person, or what? Also, what does 'TX' stand for?

Anyway, now to move on to Nate,

Hee-llo, Dieter. I saw that we both happen to nominated for the same QSQ award! Molly says it's bad form to glaut, but I think the past few posts of good manners should allow me a little leeway.
    Hmm, we'll see.

Tell me Dieter, what will you do if I do end up winning the QSQ award?

You probably won't. The only way you'd win is by some contrivance of the mods who want to ensure that nobody wins in more than one category. If you do somehow win an award for Best Male OC, I'll know that it was because the mods didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, not your outstanding personality, or lack thereof.

What will you do if good old boy Max wins it?

Congratulate him, but I think that would be a bit problematic.

Do you think Tim deserves a little credit if you were to win the award?

    I suppose...

I don't think I ever told you what year it is where I am, but what do you imagine the year 2005 is like? That's right, I'm a scary future spaceman!

2005? Sixty-six years is an awfully long time, and I quite frankly have no idea what to expect. My conversation with Josef Haupt was weird enough, and he was from 1978.

Spaceman, huh? Somehow I don't think you have the makings of one.

Has anyone even ever heard of Quodpot over at Durmstrang?

Quodpot? Never heard of it. Some other students may know what you're talking about, but remember that I wasn't born into the wizarding world. I have no idea what a Quodpot is.

What are some of the long-term physical effects of playing professional Quidditch?

How would I know? I don't play professional Quidditch.

But I would imagine that it is physically demanding, and you have to be very fit to play it. Also, judging by the state of Professor Adlersflügel's face, professional Quidditch players must sustain quite a lot of injuries too.

Now do you know what elective classes you'll be able to take when you're older?

I know that starting in my third year, Astronomy is no longer required and everyone has the option of dropping it - something I intend to do. Some new classes that appear are Divination, Arithmancy, and Ancient Magical Languages. That last class sounds mildly interesting, but I don't see how useful it would be.

Also in the third year, some of our classes end and are replaced by another set of mandatory classes. For instance, Herbology ends (though it can be continued as an elective) and is replaced by Magical Creatures. I think learning about animals will be a lot more interesting than some stupid plants, in my opinion. Also, History of Magic ends and is replaced with 'The Wizarding World', and this is the most welcoming change - no more Professor Simonov!

What are some of the things they serve for dinner at Durmstrang?

For drinks, there's always Turnip Tea and Carrot Juice, and I can't say I'm terribly fond of either of them. There are always sausages of some sort, and there's a different soup every day. Pork, beef, and chicken seem to be served on rotation every few days, but turnips and potatoes are always present. There's always some kind of bread available, often pumpernickel. Pies and cakes are sometimes served as desserts on special occasions.

Now, I think I've seen some eastern foods like borscht, but I haven't tried any of that Russian stuff. None of it looks very appetising.

Have any other students at Durmstrang been effected by the current political situation at Durmstrang? Are there any Muggle-borns from countries other than Germany, or is it only old-blood families who come from other countries?

I haven't encountered any Muggle-borns from any countries outside of Germany, so far - but that doesn't mean they aren't there. However, I doubt it. Durmstrang is a German school which all young German wizards and witches must attend, but the school has no authority outside of the Zaubererreich. I suspect that most of the Slavs at the school must come from old eastern families who have traditionally attended Durmstrang rather than inferior local alternatives.

Lorelei told me to ask this, but will she still be a dirty Slav when you wake up in the middle of the night with three dozen foot-long needles sticking out of your body? (Remember, Dieter, Voodoo is scary!)

Yes, she will. And if that were to happen, I would be overjoyed to get back at her by shooting her with my father's rifle. That should do the trick.

And why does your freakish school teach Voodoo, anyway?

    ~ Dieter Heydrich

Oh,and Tim, you have a very beleivable creep. PLEASE update your story.
I'm glad you think he's believable, and a creep too, I suppose. I am writing Chapter Thirteen - not as quickly as I'd like to, but it is getting done.

Alright, Dieter! It's Nate and since Molly just caught the H1 epidemic virus, she has nothing better to do than draw and type on the computer. So I haves some more questions for you.

Alright, Molly has told me all the people that National Socialists don't like, and I'm going to ask you to tell me why it they are so awful.
    Gypsies
    Slavs
    Jehovah's Witnesses
    Communists
    Dissenting Clergy (wow, big words)
    Homosexuals
Talking Monkeys (alright, that one's mine, but I just don't trust them!)

What is worse: a school full of Slavs, or a school with one Jew?

Are you worried about the Canadians?

What do you think is wrong with Ernst? He doesn't seem like a very good National Socialist to me.

Have you found any other Hitler Youth members at Durmstrang yet?

Do you think there are any halfbloods who are members of the Hitler Youth? That kid, Jupp, said he was a Pioneer.

Have you ever been to a movie theater?

What are some of the big breakthroughs in wizarding technology where you are?

Have you seen any of the famous wizarding joke products yet?
