    Short Tear-Jerker Fics

    Hi,

I've been needing a good cry lately, so I need some recommendations for good tear-jerkers. I would prefer if they were under 30 chapters, if possible. The only really incredible one that I had been able to find is Take My Heart Away by Hatusu.

Hee, gotta love the angst. Hope you don't mind one-shots - they're pretty much all I read. Few come to mind as heartbreaking as Take My Heart Away, but there are a couple of good dark stories out there:

Saying Goodbye by Potterfreak16... pretty much has been in my favourites since the day I joined MNFF.

    And then there's...

To be perfectly honest... and Not That I'm Counting by dory_the_fishie.

    Whisper by ms weasley.

    Someday Never Comes[/url] by R_Ravenclaw.

Requiem and The Morning Comes to Early by Indigoenigma.

And, if you're interested in more angst, you can check out the D/A section of The SBBC Recommends thread and see if you can find anything there.

You actually want to cry? Interesting. I usually try to avoid it, myself. Of course, I'm not good at it. I'm naturally drawn to sad fics, both for reading and writing.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Filiation by Cruisedirector (I found this especially sad, but you might not)
    Goodbye Rose by takefourmoments
Speaker for the Dead by coppercurls
    True Love Lost by nuw255
    Last Letter by whittyleah

And even though I shouldn't, here are a few of my own:

A Proper Goodbye by Sly Severus
Beneath The Shell by Sly Severus
    Unworthy by Sly Severus

Here are two favorites of mine. I truly love them both.

Here Comes the Sun by SiriuslyMental
Tears of Innocence by Siriusly Mr Black

and one of my own... I don't know if it will actually make you cry, but here it is anyway:

    Disgrace by fg_weasley

All one-shots, and the first is rather short, but I hope you enjoy them.

Thank you all so much for the fics you've recommended. I'll start at the top and work my way down. So far, these have been exactly what I'm looking for.

    *hugs*

Here are some stories that really made me tear-up:
"Please, I just need to talk to you," by Ron x Hermione
I Love You This Much by MagEd
The Kiss that Never Happened by Midnight_Unicorn

The last one is a poem, Hermione/Harry, and even though I'm not a shipper, it still made me really sad!

If I cried for books, I would have cried for these:

    As It Is by Pendraegona
    and
    The Violin Teacher by stardust

I'm not sure if the second is exactly SAD but it made ME sad.

Also, as I've suggested elsewhere many a' time, Long-Distance Extendable Ears by Schmerg_the_Impaler is an amazing story.
