Hi! I'm in need of either a quesion or riddle that can be asked by the eagle knocker on the common room's entrance. Can anybody think of any? I'm rather stumped myself.
Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

The only one I can think of is one that I used in my Gauntlet fic:
'What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a bed but doesn't sleep, has a head but never weeps?'
A river! lol.
You should go to riddles.com and check there if you want a really good one. Thats where I got mine, and they have a wide selection.

Between the two there is you, unstoppable."

Here's one I used for one of my stories.
You are walking to town and have lost your way. You come to a fork in the road and see two men standing in each direction. One tells only truths, and one tells only lies. You can only ask them one question. How would you find the way to town?
Answer: Ask them, "If I were to ask you which road leads to town, which would you say?"
And here are some websites with good riddles:

Hope I helped!
My brand new trailer for Snape Didn't Die by thegirllikeme to serve as a constant source of inspiration whilst I write!
I am one color, but not one size. I am stuck at the bottom, yet I easily fly. I am present in the sun, but not in the rain. I do no harm and feel no pain. What am I?
It's a shadow.
Or....
I never was, and I always am to be. No one can see me and they never will. Yet I am the confidence of all. What am I?
Tomorrow.
Personally, I like the shadow one better.
Good Luck!

This is more of a funny one than serious, so here it goes.
A man rode into town on Wednesday, stayed in town for three days and came back on Thursday. How did he do it?
Answer: The horse was called Thursday.

What goes around the world but stays in a corner?
Answer: A stamp

Give me food, and I will live; give me water, and I will die. What am I?
Answer: A fire
I hope these helped.

I love riddles. A few of my favorites are from The Hobbit, so you'd have to give credit to that if you used them.
This thing all things devours:
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down.
Answer: Time
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
Answer: Dark
Voiceless it cries,
Wingless flutters,
Toothless bites,
Mouthless mutters.
Answer: Wind
If you don't want to use those, I would suggest all of the sites everyone else mentioned. They have some great riddles.

See, these are all riddles like I'd expect a Sphinx to use. The Ravenclaw knocker, however, doesn't so much seem to ask riddles as complicated questions on magical theory, that sometimes stray into the philosophical. Plus, the questions are rather short, and could potentially have more than one answer, depending on how you reason it.
Also, the questions would most likely have different levels of difficulty depending on your age.
I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions; I just felt like I should sort of point that out.![]()
