    Voldemort and Horcruxes

I'm writing a fiction where I need a defeat of Voldmort, but not quite as large of a battle in the seventh book. Not to mention, that my fiction takes place in the fifth year. So, that said, I need a way of defeating Voldmort for the mean time. Like, I was thinking about creating my own horcrux for Voldemort, in which gets destroyed and he becomes weakened. In my story, there's a romance between Harry and an other character which happens to be Snape's daughter that had been in hiding for some time. I was think Voldemort might think that if he killed her, Harry would be left too weak to manage against him. The only way to weaken someone like this, is if the love is a very true love, a love that was destined. So, my idea was that Voldemort attack Hogwarts in order to capture and torture the gilr in front of Harry, eventually murdering her. But, with a quick plan from Snape that Harry was never aware of, Evangeline (the girl) gets sent off under Voldemort's nose, and replaced by an unconcsious rat, force fed enough Polyjuice in order to make a duplicate of her. She is murdered unconsciously. (Not her, but you know.)

So, what would be a good way to get Voldemort defeated? It's not supposed to be epic, but the last couple chapters, since the story in more revolved around the romance. Should I make him a horcrux? And how weak would he be if it were destroyed?

Well, if its AU, and set in fifth year, then we don't exactly know about Horcruxe's yet.

You could ignore their existence, and work from there? Or, you could have Voldermort try to kill Harry, but have the curse rebound or something, and kill him. It all really depends on whether or not you want Voldermort dead, or out of action.

Another idea is doing like a repeat of Lily dying for Harry - Snape could, so his daughter could be happy, or Harry's girl could.

    Hope this helped.

Polyjuice Potion should only be used with human hairs, as Hermione once said, so I'm don't think it would be a good idea for a rat to take Polyjuice Potion. I just don't think it's plausible, that's all, because since Polyjuice is just for humans, it probably wouldn't work on a rat.

Also, I'm pretty sure this should go in Skele-Grow, since you're asking for plot help and not really looking for facts. I'm sure a mod will fix it if that is the case. If not, please ignore me.

warning: DH spoilers if you didn't read it (just to make sure)
Since it is fifth year like untitlednine said you could have Voldemort shone in the first part of the story deeply attached to the horcrux. The reader would suspect it was important to him. You could not mention it's a horcrux, only show that he desperatly needs it to be safe. The readers would then suspect it of being a horcrux when it gets destroyed.

Dumbledore thinks that Voldemort doesn't notice if a horcrux gets destroyed (CoS and HBP or DH) Also in DH it says that only the sword of Gryffindor and the black fire can destroy a horcrux.

Well... one of the Deatheaters could make Snape's daughter get the sword out of Dumbledore's office from the Imperius curse. The Deatheater (maybe Wormtail) could accidentally destroy the horcrux. Voldemort would be so mad he'd do something to make him weak(Something one does in a Romance fic).

How to kill Voldy off? Easy. Harry vs Voldemort (most romantic fight I can think about.)
