Tom Riddle 50 years ago

Hi!

I'm writing a fic that's pretty much centered around Tom Riddle but I've gotten confused with dates and such (this happens a lot to me!)

When would Tom have:

Gotten the diary for Christmas?
First attended Hogwarts?
Made the diary into a horcrux?

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help!

Gotten the diary for Christmas?

Well, he had to have been no older than fifteen or sixteen (his birthday is December 31st, 1926, so he could have gotten it for Christmas IMMEDIATELY before he turned 16), but it's more likely it was the year before that or even earlier, because he opened the Chamber his fifth year.

First attended Hogwarts?

His first day at Hogwarts would have been 1 September 1938.

Made the diary into a horcrux?

He made it with Moaning Myrtle's death, so after she died, but presumably before the first of the following year (because then it would have been a memory of his SEVENTEEN year old self, not his SIXTEEN year old self).
