I was reading Philosophers Stone last night, when I got to the end where Quirrell and Harry are in the chamber with the Mirror of Erised, Quirrell snaps his fingers and conjoures ropes that bind Harry, he also claps his hands to release him. So yes wandless magic is definately possible, I suppose it depends upon the skill of the wizard.
