I have searched and had no luck finding an answer to this, so I have a question about including links in Author's Notes of stories. I have read the Submissions guidelines and FAQs, so I know we are not supposed to link to outside sites and not allowed to include images in our stories, but can we include a link to them if they are located here, in the BA or Dean's Corner?

Along the same line, can we link to anything here on the forums (ie. if one has a Dueling Club thread, so that if a reviewer has questions that would more easily be answered in that sort of thread than in a review/response, rather than bulking up our review count with QandA type things, or if we were to write something that might make rabid fans of certain characters scream, "He would never do that!" and we have a link to a thread that might defend our position)? Can we post such links in an A/N and tell readers to go there if they have questions, rather than having to defend/explain in the review responses over and over and..., etc?

If we can, would only forum members be able to view the threads?

These links aren't allowed in your A/N, but you may provide links on your profile page.

I'm guessing we can't ask for help on original fiction or other fanfiction, but would it be ok to put up a thread for that in the room of requirement?

Flobberworm93, you are correct in assuming you cannot post for help with an original fiction in the Beta forums here or post an excerpt from original fiction in the Excerpts forum. You will have to check with the moderator in charge of the Room of Requirement to see if she will allow you to make such a post there, though I doubt that it will be approved.

You can, of course, contact someone individual via PM or email to see if that person might be willing to help with original fiction.

I'm new here and I'm wondering what exactly constitutes plagarism. For example if JRK describes travelling by port key as 'a jerk from behind the navel, floor vanishing in a rush of wind and a swirl of colours' can we use this discription in a fanfic or would that be plargarism??

Okay, so whenever I try to edit my personal info on (not here) the MNFF archives, right when I click "submit" it goes to the login page, and then when I log in nothing's changed. Whats wrong with it (it's annoying the heck out of me)?

Stubbornly Appeared - whenever something like that happens to me, I hit the reload button and it turns out fine. It usually happens to me when I am responding to a review, and hitting reload almost always sends my response through.
