Exclamation Thread Guidelines (Read Before Posting)

    Thread Guidelines: A How-to

So, you want to start advertising your skills here in Knockpixel Alley? That’s great, welcome aboard! But first, please read through these guidelines for creating and maintaining your thread. These guidelines are designed to keep the forum running smoothly and make sure that threads are easy to read/understand for everyone. An accidental violation of the rules is understandable – a pixie will usually just PM you letting you know if something needs to be changed. Continual violations after receiving several warnings will result in the docking of house points or, in extreme cases, the closure of your thread.

If you still have questions about setting up a thread after reading through the following posts, why not trying Asking a Pixie?

    Good luck and happy bannering!

    Thread Title

    Thread Title

The first thing you need when posting a thread is a good title! This title should be short, simple, and to the point.

More specifically, your thread title should include whatever name you want to go by. Whether you want to use your username or a nickname is up to you! Most people follow their name up with something about bannering and/or their availability status. If you’re not sure what to do, a standard option would be “[Your Name]’s Banners ]”.

Right. Well. That was easy, wasn't it? On to what to include in your first post!

    First Post

At the top or bottom of your first post, you should list your current availability or let people know where they can find that information (for instance, refer them to your most recent post in the thread). You should also fill out and include the following form:

    HTML Code:
    [b]Name:[/b]
[b]Age:[/b] [if you’re comfortable sharing, if not – delete this section]
    [b]Graphics program:[/b]
[b]How long you have been designing:[/b]
    [b]Specialties:[/b]
    [b]Fav. Fanfic Category:[/b]
    [b]OTP(s):[/b]
    [b]Any stories on MNFF?:[/b]
[b]More on Availability:[/b] [list expected wait times etc. here]
Underneath this form, you should have a maximum of five examples of your work displayed. As with all other images here on MNFF, make sure your examples have an area of no more than 150,000 pixels square. You can multiply the width of the image you want to post by its height to determine if it is within these limits. If you want to include more examples, post links to the rest underneath your five allowed images.

Many bannermakers like to include a form for their requesters to use underneath their examples, but this isn’t mandatory. If you would like to include a form, the standard one for a story banner looks like this:

    HTML Code:
    [b]Title of your Story:[/b]
    [b]Author Name:[/b]
    [b]Catch phrase:[/b]
    [b]Overall look of the banner:[/b]
    [b]Fonts:[/b]
    [b]Characters:[/b]
    [b]Story Summary:[/b]
    [b]Banner size:[/b]
[b]Have You Requested This Banner Before?[/b]
    [b]Anything else?[/b]
Make sure to keep the information and examples in your first post up to date! You wouldn't want people to look at you today and judge you by how you wore your hair three years ago, would you? Well, maybe you would — your hair might've been rocking three years ago for all I know. Anyway, the point still stands!

Now onwards, to a brighter future full of glorious creations! I can't wait to see what you get up to here in Knockpixel Alley!
