Ah, you guys nabbed all the good ones Um, all I've got is the importance of family in the three stories. In Relativity, Hermione seems to determined to do well academically for her parents; (You and I) Against the World is all about how Sirius parts from his brother Regulus, while I Will Come Back features the birth of Draco.

The stories are all about couples breaking up: Lily & Scorpius, Dean and Luna, Theodore and Susan.

    Uhm...

All the stories are about couples who could be canon, at least for a while.

    Dean/Luna
    Scorpius/Lily
    Theo/Susan

All three written in the present tense, except for the flashbacks (Oh, My, that is tenuous)

All three stories feature a person whose father was either a Death Eater, or who helped Voldemort in some way.

Theo Nott's Dad was a DE
    Scorpius's Dad was a DE
Luna's Dad tried to capture Harry for Voldypants.

Edit: Uhm, I didn't take any offence. It was actually pure fluke that I clicked on the boards at that time as they'd been down for me, not like the few times when I've been obsessively refreshing. (seriously, I did for one of the rounds ) Basically, I'd read two of the stories before because I've been around for so long.

I don't see how you can do it so fast. You must have some inside line to this challenge. Yes, it's portraits. Grr. Maybe there's some kind of time delay between the various parts of the world, because I see that Julia's time stamp for the announcement of yesterday's results is 5:00 a.m., but at 5:03 a.m. by my computer time that announcement was not yet posted. So I guess it takes a while for the message to go from New Zealand to England to the west coast of America. Such is life.

Edit for your most recent comment, Julia: No, I just meant the remark about the inside line as a joke; I guess I should have put a smiley face next to it so that that would have been more clear. Still, I wonder if there is not something to the idea of the technological time delay, since I too was online since before 4:00 a.m. west coast time, checking the thread every minute or so while doing other longhand writing in between checks. Well, such is life. I apologize for any offense given to you or Carole, who I never really believed could possibly have an inside line.

    Further guesses of connections.
All three stories involve, or at least mention, Harry and Ginny.
All three stories involve loss, Harry's loss of his parents, Dean's loss of Ginny as a girlfriend, Ginny's threatened loss of her life, Dean's loss of his father.

There is no inside line. There is no advantage apart from Carole happening to be on at the same time as this new round was posted. Yes, I actually posted this an hour early but no one had extra inside knowledge about that and it didn't look like anyone else was going to post a new guess. I am a human and wanted to get this done earlier so I could do other more important tasks before I go to sleep.

I won't bother with my "this is very tenuous" disclaimer because I always seem to say that, haha. (Although this is probably the most flimsy connection I've found so far.) Possibly each story has the theme of attempted restoration or reconstruction, of some sort -- in Vault, the portrait of Harry's grandparents is supposed to be restored; in An Appreciation for Still Life, Dean sketches a reconstruction of WWW, and in Perfect, Dean tries to reconstruct what he had with Ginny before Harry?
