RESULTS
I’m not sure if I mentioned the participation points before, but there are 5 points for each entry. Also, there is a first, second and third place overall, not per prompt. I’m sorry if this wasn’t clear before.
This was very, very hard, but...
1st Place:
This story was fantastic. It’s such a realistic view of George post-Fred and how he would feel, both showing him trying to accept a world without friend and his friendship/relationship with Angelina developed so beautifully. I laughed aloud, was filled with sadness, and also filled with happiness over the course of this story.
Carole takes 20 points back to Hufflepuff.
2nd Place:
Natasha did something no other entrant did in ageing her major character substantially. It was a very original take on the prompt, showing a very in character older Ron, who has changed but is also recognisably the Ron from the books. It was a beautiful idea, beautifully written.
Natasha takes 15 points (for this story) back to Gryffindor.
3rd Place:
I have a soft spot for Draco, and here Gina captured him perfectly, showing him both as the sixteen year old Death Eater, and as a twenty two year old man living with his past. She handled a difficult topic perfectly, taking us deeply into Draco’s head and making him believable and sympathetic.
Gina therefore takes ten points (for this story) back to Ravenclaw.
This was very hard to judge.I will also give an honourable mention to AidaLuthien’s story Pieces which took one of the most difficult characters to get right, Albus Dumbledore, and shows him dealing with his losses at a young age.
