Alex,
Do the stories have to be about/from the POV of only one character? For example, can I tell the story of a relationship, if both characters are major canon characters?
This is going to be fun! Thank yooou.
I meant to clarify this, and forgot. Thanks for reminding me.
Your story does not have to be from the perspective of your chosen major character. But you do need to make it clear that the focus is on your chosen character. So when writing not from that character's perspective, it must be clear who is the main character in your story, and which one is subordinate to that.
Alex,
Are there claims for characters involved in this, or is it just a free-for-all? Can there be multiple stories from multiple authors for the same character?
Will the prompts be the same for each round, or are these just Round 1 prompts?
Can we try to connect our stories to each other, or to other things we've written?
Forgive me if I did not read closely enough. And forgive me for probably coming back with more questions. And cross your fingers that I don't write a Marauder, because I really need a break from them. ;)
Thanks!
~Gina :)
There are no claims for characters. If I get ten stories all on Harry Potter, then I get ten stories on Harry Potter (but it would be lovely if I did not). If you want to write three stories on the same character, then that's fine, but you will only get the points for one story, and the stories will be judged against each other.
The prompts will change for each round. July 1st I will post a different set of prompts for Minor Characters, and August 1st a further set for Original Characters.
If you want to connect your stories, you can, but it won't be part of the judging criteria. Likewise, if your story refers to events in your headcanon/ other stories, then that's fine, but it should be possible to read it with no knowledge of your other stories.
Feel free to come back with more questions :)
Alexxxxx, I wanted to know if you had the 1/10 rule regarding drabbles being expanded? Because I had this idea, and it's kind of centred around one drabble, so I was thinking of expanding it for the triathlon? Obviously, if you want completely new material, that's cool too. Just wanted to know if you'd allow it. :)
I will definitely allow that, yes :)
Hey Alex,
If we want to write multiple entries for one round, do they have to be based on different prompts?
You can write more than one story per prompt if you wish, Aida-that's fine :)
Alex
Hi Alex,
For the prompts, do we have to stick exactly to them? It's just that for the Diagon Alley prompt, my person's not actually walking around, but something triggers lots of memories.
Thanks, BP
