"YOU HAVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT!"
(said in a Voldemort type way)
Sorry, sorry, sorry (said in a more reasoned Pomona Sprout way) I forgot to put a time on this, so I shall leave this open until Midnight BST.

I am not going to apologise for the delay in judging this because I've had to take my time. Although there were only six one-shots to read, they were all different, all good, and thus, I have found this nigh impossible to pick a winner and runner up.
Here are some notes about each story.
Sirius
Sirius is one of the most interesting and complex characters to read and write and I do love a story that deals with his psyche. Gwen chose to write about a particularly depressing time in his life and this was well executed. Well done.
Hard-Faced
A compelling account of Pansy's life. The background Lovisa invented for her is very plausible and the characterisation shines through. I loved the way we peek into Draco through Pansy's memories. I was particularly impressed with the 'word beads' incorporation in this, as it was scarcely noticeable.
Unabsolved
The first of the Dumbledore one-shots. He's a hard character to get a handle on, but Aida managed to keep him IC and also added a decent backstory and gave us glimpses into his mind as he prepared to duel his lost love,
Thick Woollen Socks
Albus Dumbledore is perfectly characterised from the beginning in this story. There was a moment where, despite me reading the previous drabbles, I was chilled at the twist on canon that Natalie gave to Dumbledore's supposed 'lie'.
Tendrils
Kara took the difficult route of not only using first person but trying to evince sympathy from us towards Lucius Malfoy. It worked and the tale she wove was interesting and tantalising to read.
Vendetta
Ariana's Bellatrix was a joy to read. A joy in the sense that she was mesmerising. The language in this story was sublime and I was really swept along with this tale of the three kills she remembers.
So, you've all made this incredibly hard for me.
In the end, I had to go back to my first post where I discovered this:
And thus, I am awarding first place toQuote:
