One of the things that I really liked on the old skin was that there was a place to see the most recent story. This magically disappeared with the new skins, and I was wondering if anyone liked it as much as I did and if the mods should replace it? (Because I think you should, cause now I don't know if a story's been updated by the power of Most Recent o.O)

There is a most recent on the new skins. It's under information on the right side. Hope this helps.

I've been mulling over this quite a bit since the archive skins changed. I think I may have something akin to a suggestion in regards to Lily's suggestion.
On the side menu bar, might it be too much difficulty to link in the coding for the Recently added underneath the category menu? It doesn't take up too much space, but if it impugns on some requirement for the ad placement, I understand. I suppose I just wonder if it's possible or feasible without a ridiculous amount of work.
I think Lily meant the one story that used to appear on the left hand side of the screen. It would tell you that something new was on the most recent lists, that's all.

I absolutely agree with Jess that the link to the Most Recents page needs to be more prominent. I personally am annoyed at that little link on the lower right, but even more importantly (since I do get over those sorts of things, lol) for someone new to the site, they might not ever see it. And for less frequent visitors who just like to take a peak at the recents, making that link bigger and more obvious would really help get those stories some publicity.

If you click on 'Titles' it gives you the most recent stories, but it took me a while to figure out that was what was going on.

We've added a new panel below the information box that shows the three most recent stories that have been validated on the site. I hope this goes some way to answering your suggestions.
In terms of categories, when you view any category you can sort the fictions into 'most recent' with the latest updates appearing at the top of the listing. Unfortunately we do not have the power to have a 'most recent' box for each category individually.
