It seems pointless that I've made a whole new thread just for this one question, but anyway...
What happened to Crookshanks?
Did he die, or something? The last time I remember hearing of him was in OP when Ginny said he liked playing with Dungbombs.

That's a good question, and perhaps people will have other Crookshanks questions.
I have a few:
How old is Crookshanks?
Do we know how much (or less) long Kneazles and part-Kneazles live compared to normal cats?
As for what happened to him... harrypotterwikia suggests that he was with Hermoine when she came to the Burrow for Fleur and and Bill's wedding and was left there.
That would make sense, though your suggestion also makes sense.
Actually, I think it more likely that the cat remained at the Burrow. If Hermione wiped her parents' memories of her completely, there would be no memory of getting a cat... unless Hermione adjusted the memories for that detail, but that seems unlikely.
I'm glad you brought this up. I have a WIP which includes her arrival at the Burrow before the Horcrux hunt... Crookshanks had not even occurred to me. ;)

So he was definitely at the Burrow, and I imagine he stayed there. He would be able to take care of himself mostly, hunting mice and gnomes, and Mrs Weasley would take care of him, too. Since he's part Kneazle, I'm not sure that Hermione's parents would be great to look after him, and he definitely didn't go to Australia with them, so...Quote:
