welshdevondragon I'll take a look in the queue and see if I can help. Lots of mods en route to college or getting adjusted with new schedules this time of year - myself included with the latter. Thank you for your patience!

OK, so I'm posting here not because I need help but because I am curious and want to be a pain (not so much the latter though): how are "active members" determined? By posting regularly or just logging in?
Just wondering. :)

Phia - I've had this discussion with others and what I have heard is if a user has not been online in six months, they may be considered inactive . . . unless otherwise notified. (lots of students working on degrees and such.) Personally, I have had the urge to take it a step further and delete those who have not logged on since the switch back in '06.

I am curious, when will the fall term classes be posted? I'm excited to see what will be offered for the term!
I'm sorry, I know this is a delicate topic, but... I do feel the need to bring it up. I know there's been a lot of contention about the presence of ads on MNFF and I don't want to reopen that can of worms, but I've been noticing a lot of the ads are really quite innapropriate for a site dedicated to fanfiction of a children's series. A lot of the users that access MNFF are quite young, as of course you know, and the fact that they're subjected to these ads - ads for online gambling, ads showing scantily-dressed women with the slogan "PLAY NOW DISCRETELY IN YOUR OFFICE OR CLASSROOM" - is not what I would have thought we'd want.
I know there's no getting rid of ads on MNFF, but is there any way of moderating the ads that are shown? I mean, I'm not overly bothered by these ads, I'd put up with them on any other site, but... not MNFF. And it is difficult to read fanfiction when you've got a pair of boobs staring at you from the side of the page.
EDIT: I'm not the only one concerned about this; I've discussed it with other users in AIM chats, and another user just PM'd me agreeing with this post. (Just wanted to let you know that I'm not the only one concerned.)
Yellow ya'll. :) Just wanted to point at this member. *points*
That's all.
This one here looks sort of weird too... Also, This member has a very very questionable site linked in their profile. And no I'm not hunting for bad eggs, it just seems that they targeted Lys' beta thread o_O
OliveOil_Med, as the ads have been posted, your question has been answered, hasn't it? :)
A.H. and Karaley Dargen, thank you for pointing out spam members. We are aware of them as we get them a lot, and we ban them regularly. I would say that in future, don't post them here but PM such names or links to a moderator directly, as the Ask a Mod thread will fill up too fast otherwise.
Phia Phoenix, I'm afraid your question needs an admin to deal with it. :o
Phia -
Thank you for your post - I appreciate your honesty.
I will copy your post to our Admin discussion thread and we will take things from there.
Have a good day.

Ummm. I think I've been accidentally made a mod. I can suddenly see all the houses as well as several more things I've never been able to see before. Just thought I'd mention it...
