Title: Rationing Drink
Character(s) used: Ron Weasley, Bill Weasley
Bill entered the room and placed one of two bottles of Butterbeer next to the bed where his youngest brother sat brooding and clicking the lights on and off.
Ron eyed the beverage. “Where’ve you been hiding those?”
“Gotta ration it,” Bill said, sinking into a chair and taking a long drink. “Can’t exactly run out for more these days, can we?”
Ron exchanged the Deluminator for the Butterbeer and drank.
“Ron.” It was the older brother tone, in earnest.
Their eyes met.
“If there’s any chance at all, you shouldn’t give up. Who knows? Maybe you could find them.”
And we have our first winner of the DSC!
Well done Oregonian for writing
(Weasley Mom - I hummed and hawwed over your allusion to Harry, but decided against it as it was the merest of allusions. If the DSC had been Hermione, then you'd have nabbed extra points.)
Character Used: Ron Weasley
After the storm, Ron took a sack down to the beach to collect the garbage the waves had washed ashore. Broken fragments of who-knows-what, empty bottles -- they all went into the sack. He bent and plucked another bottle from the sand, amber, with a battered butterbeer label. The bottles were always uncapped, but this one had a cork, not odd enough to warrant a second look. It almost went into the sack too, when Ron glimpsed something inside. He looked closer. A note? The cork wouldn't budge. Aperio! Accio note! The paper flew out of the bottle into his hand.
The SDC was tan tan taraaaaaaa
Why no love for the grumpy old caretaker? This isn't Scooby Doo.
