I need a message/short verse!

Ok, in my story, my character is the new Ancient Runes teacher. She is given a key to her private rooms and only that key can unlock the door to it. On the key, I want Norse runes to translate into a sort of verse or message, something about locked doors, or something. I need something quickly, because I want to finish up the chapter tonight.

edit - and i just realized..does this belong here or skelo-grow?

I found some Norse proverbs:
The head only knows what lies nearest the heart.
It's best to search while the trail is new.
Come words of wisdom from the withered lips.

I don't know why, but I like them. Can you help me choose one, or give me another suggestion?

Well, I like what you have so far except for the fact that they don't sound 'bookish' at all. In fact, they almost sound ... romantic. So I went looking and here is one Norse/Icelandic proverb that stood out to me:

Blind is a man without a book.
- Blindur er bóklaus maður.

I like the second one, "It's best to search while the trail is new." best. But I have one about a key as well. It's "With just a gentle touch I open what force cannot." It's part of a riddle to which the answer is a key. If you're looking for something a bit longer, here's the riddle.

"What force and strength cannot get through
I with a gentle touch can do,
And many in the street would stand
Were I not a friend at hand."

I'm sorry, but I do not have anything about locked doors.

EDIT - Thanks you guys for the suggestions! I just finished the chapter a few minutes ago. It's my third chapter, and after almost 4 days, I wish MNFF would get the first chapter off the queue all ready...*grrrr* I apologize, it's two o'clock in the morning here.
