Short Tear-Jerker Fics

Hi,

I've been needing a good cry lately, so I need some recommendations for good tear-jerkers. I would prefer if they were under 30 chapters, if possible. The only really incredible one that I had been able to find is Take My Heart Away by Hatusu.

Hee, gotta love the angst. Hope you don't mind one-shots - they're pretty much all I read. Few come to mind as heartbreaking as Take My Heart Away, but there are a couple of good dark stories out there:

You actually want to cry? Interesting. I usually try to avoid it, myself. Of course, I'm not good at it. I'm naturally drawn to sad fics, both for reading and writing.

I will second that. I read both last night and due to the inability to stop bawling (no, really, I cried for half an hour. Shows me for looking through a "tear-jerker" thread :rolleyes: ) I couldn't review. But I will say that if you want a good tear-jerker, these two stories are the way to go.

Also, as I've suggested elsewhere many a' time, Long-Distance Extendable Ears (http://fanfiction.mugglenet.com/search.php) by Schmerg_the_Impaler is an amazing story.

This is a series of one shots that left me teary eyed. Mudbloodproud is a great writer and you may enjoy some of her other fics aswell.

Not sure if this will qualify but my latest story

HarryPotter: the Following Year has a chapter in it about Fred's Funeral, which many people have told me, made them cry. I don't find it to 'tear jerking' myself, but maybe that is just because I wrote it >.>

Anyways, there are quite a few more of them. I shall have to take a peak at my favorites. I shall edit later.

Hi,

I've read one called Faith [In The Hands of a Child] (http://fanfiction.mugglenet.com/viewstory.php?sid=966&ageconsent=ok&warning=3) by Seren. I liked it, but not everyone will. It has as the summary says, 'graphic self-mutilation-but for a very good cause'. It's definitely very sad, and I would have cried at it, had I cried for stories.

I'd also recommend Alone (http://fanfiction.mugglenet.com/viewstory.php?sid=56904) by Beauty in the Breakdown.

Amanda by Purplemage (I don't have a link though:o ) is also very good, but it's a Sirius/Remus fic. If you don't like slash stories, I'd stay away.

The way it's written makes just moves you; you want to read the fic outloud, and it is, now an audio fic if you care to listen to it, too. (I might go do this, actually.) This fic literally took my breath away. I don't think I've said that about a fic in a long, long time.
