View Full Version : Story not Appearing in Most Recent/Last Update (validated author) - SOLVED

Not so much a problem as an oddity that Mods should be aware of.

To the extent of your knowledge, did this error occur before the upgrade? Yes, once before, using Founder of Ravenclaw skin.

What section(s) are you getting the error: When submitting a chapter of Child of the Hunt, storyid=59771, using Founder of Ravenclaw skin.

Does the error go away when you switch skins? Nope.

Additional Information: Last update is showing back in December 07. The last time I updated prior to today was after Christmas. The chapter appears in Manage Stories, and others can see it.

Again, this is not a "real" problem, just archive weirdness. Let me know if you need any other information, Beth.

Some VAs are getting this error. PM me the sid of your story and when it should have been updated.

If you're experiencing this problem, let me know if it's taking you longer to submit a chapter (page loading is a lot slower). That may be the problem.

Someone confirmed that it does take the page a long time to load when submitting as a validated author. What happens is that your connection has timed out, which is why your story is updated but the date is not.

This is a bug in the script which I alone cannot figure out. However, I've brought it to the attention of the developers.

Okay -- another validated author problem, apparently. The story (new) looks posted, and in fact looked posted twice. It has a reasonable word count. And it does not open for reading. Edit Story yields Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 5054341 bytes) in /home/fanfiction/public_html/stories.php on line 578 Now what?

Erika, is it your story? A new story or a new chapter?

If it took a long time for the chapter to submit, the reason why it doesn't show up is because your session timed out before all the info could be submitted.

VV edit: okay, we got it. Spaces no longer work for a chapter title, but dashes do.
