A year of hard choices and tough talks:
A year of hard choices and tough talks:
Destiny learns about the grim reality that is her dad’s past. Then it is a power struggle between Salazar and Severus as the trio takes up Occlumency on Dumbledore’s orders. Drake finally asks Silver to open up to him but can she do so? And, is Silver the only one that is confused about feelings? Drake doesn’t think so. Will Salazar awake to the reality that lies in his heart?
Voldemort’s servant returns to his master and while two have discussed their status, the third must choose. Destiny must decide where she stands in the next war to come. The end of the year comes as a blow. Will the long time allies decide to separate or will they finally become something more?
Summary: Hermione Granger is in a dilemma. A dilemma she never thought could happen. Least of all to her. During the battle of the Department of Mysteries in the trio’s fifth year, Hermione discovers something else in the Hall of Prophecy. Something involving her. For two years, Hermione kept what she discovered a secret, only confiding in her cat, Crookshanks. After extensive research and several well-thought out plans, Hermione came to the conclusion that there was only one thing she could do to ensure that the prophecy she discovered when she was fifteen would never come true. She had to run. Leave everything and everyone she had ever cared about behind. It was the only way to keep them all safe. Especially him. Five years after leaving her life behind, Hermione returns to England, in a disguise, of course.
In a final attempt at bravery, a stolen kiss and the sacrifice of taking a deadly curse to end it all, Hermione reveals herself, and so does her murderer.
This in an AU story about Hermione Granger and all her secrets.
Summary: One moonlit night, a mysterious sorcerer raises up an army of Inferi.

Summary: In December of 1997, Harry visits his parents' graves in Godric's Hollow and realizes that they are the end toward which we all are headed.
Written for the Sixth Annual October Triathlon: Race to Hallowe'en.
Inspired by this fragment of verse:
We do lie beneath the grass
In the moonlight, in the shade
Of the yew-tree. They that pass
Hear us not. We are afraid
They would envy our delight
In our graves by glow-worm light.

Summary: After Dumbledore's Funeral, Harry tells Ginny that they can't be together anymore since he is going on the Horcrux Hunt. However, Ginny has a better idea for herself and Harry.
On a stormy October evening, a letter, a late night trip to the library and a secret conversation lead Lily Evans to discover that there are several mysteries in her life that only she has the capability and the inclination to solve. The first mystery is James Potter – what could turn him from the arrogant, could-care-less boy that she had previously known to someone withdrawn and far away? Then, perhaps more troubling, there is Esther Collins, the fifth year who has vanished without a trace. Furthermore, one of Lily’s best friends, Izza, is seeing a mystery boy and Lily is determined to know who.
Then there is the threat of war, backstabbing friends and NEWT’s. A disinherited and emotionally battered Sirius Black is the source of heartache for his friends, except perhaps Izza, who, with her own terrifying family, might just understand him. Lily’s closest male friend, Remus Lupin, is hiding a dangerous secret from her. Peter’s girlfriend is screwing him over, and the whole time Lily is struggling to stop the people she loves from coming apart at the seams.
Summary: A penniless thief, a carefree prankster, the school's golden boy, a rich player and a blue-blooded aristocrat.
For these five, it was never a question of just getting good marks, or trying to avoid detention. Everyone always told them that Hogwarts would be some of the best years of their lives, but nobody mentioned how difficult life could be, or what would happen to their friendship along the way. However, despite their struggles, they always remembered this- you'll never have friends like the ones you make when you're seventeen.
Summary: Even in its abandonment and slow disintegration, it retains its power to destroy. This is my Poem #1 entry in the Sixth Annual October Triathlon: Race to Hallowe'en, a sonnet, prompted by this scrap of verse:
Curious, how she tried the window,--
Odd the way she tried the door,--
Wonder just what sort of people
Could have had this house before.
