I am Equinox Chick from Hufflepuff and this is my entry in the November in-house banner/story challenge.
Author's Note: For this competiition, the writers in Hufflepuff picked banners designed by other Puffs and wrote a story based on the picture, title and catchphrase. The banner I chose was by Terri (mudbloodproud).

Summary: "James Sirius Potter, it is the judgment of the Wizengamot that you have been found guilty. You knowingly, in possession of sound mind and body, used the Cruciatus Curse and the Killing Curse in the intentional torture and murder of one Gregory Goyle the Third."
James Potter was going to Azkaban for the rest of his natural life, and his whole family was in shambles. His wife and child have fled the country, his sister was missing, and his parents were a wreck. However, James knew that he had larger problems: he was not as guilty as thought.
His father knew that he had a secret, a terrible secret, and it was one that Harry vowed to discover, come hell or high water. Would the Potter family be able to recover from their emotional maelstrom? Would James ever be a free man again? What kind of skeletons were lurking in the Potter family closet?

Faintly, the patient heard footsteps approaching. Her eyes were barely open in slits, to block out the blinding fluorescent lights above. Where am I? What am I doing here, and why do I feel like I’ve been run down by a herd of hippogriffs? All these questions were shunted aside as the summoned doctor pulled each of her eyes open individually, exposing her retinas to the burning illumination. She tried to speak, to tell him to turn off that damned light, but when she opened her mouth, her voice felt like sandpaper to her own ears. She then realized something.

Summary: This fic is a series of missing moments from the time H/R&H were at Shell Cottage, beginning immediately after they disapparated from Malfoy Manor. JKR shows us what was going on with Harry, but this is my version of what could have happened with Ron and Hermione after one of the most emotional/disturbing events in the entire series. As much as I love the kiss in the room of requirement, I'm letting that develop a bit sooner. Other than that detail, this piece works with DH.
