He is content with his position in the Slytherin Quidditch team and he has fresh new ways to bother the Potter-Weasley clan. He has kept his nose clean and his parents are happy with him.

Where Are You? by Ginny Weasley Potter

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 33 Reviews
Summary:
MISSING
Name: Sheila Anne Rhodes
Age: 22
Height: 5ft 3in

Last seen at Fistral Beach wearing an orange bikini. If found, please contact us through any of the numbers listed below.

Someone goes missing at a beach in Newquay and apart from the grieving family members, nobody is really worried. After all, people keep disappearing like that throughout the year, right? Maybe Sheila's father or husband has unknowingly made an enemy somewhere. Newquay is still safe anyway.

That is what Chris Stevens and his steady girlfriend, Cheryl Willis, think as they head off to Cheryl's beach house for a vacation with a few other friends. Everybody is really looking forward for the trip-- it seems to be a breath of fresh air in each of their busy lives.

But what happens when the number of disappearances begins to increase with no trace of any of the victims? All-OC sequel to 'Killer Instincts', but can be read as a stand-alone. Thank you to my beta Alex/welshdevondragon for polishing this story! :)

I Know by Gmariam

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 4 Reviews Past Featured Story

At the End of the Tunnel by Ginny Weasley Potter

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 2 Reviews
Summary: He knew what he liked. He knew what he hated. But he never knew what he feared until a very fateful day.

Two encounters with Boggarts lead Anurag Krishnan to discover himself more than ever before.

I’m Ginny Weasley Potter from Hufflepuff house and this is my submission to the October Mini Challenge at the Great Hall.

Anurag is my OC from ‘Where Are You?’ and though all my previous companion fics about him take place before the timeline for WAY, this one spoils it. For all the readers who are reading/ planning to read that fic, I’d advise to finish reading that first, right till chapter 25, as this spoils the last chapter too.

Rest In The Bed by welshdevondragon

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • 4 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary:
"This is the last night I will spend in our flat. I have spent sixty-nine nights here without you, and I can only manage one more."

....

"I can't remember falling out of love with you. I've just--I've just fallen in love with someone else, so maybe what we had wasn't love in the first place."

Lily is leaving the flat she and Scorpius shared for five years, in the hope that she can move on. Some things, however, are hard to forget.

This story is for Soraya, since it is partially her fault, and also because she deserves many stories of higher quality than this.

Title from the Laura Marling song of the same name, which is also the song played during this story.

The Hawthorn Root by opti

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 9 Reviews
Summary: The Hawthorn tree is the Celtic symbol of consequence, relationships, and contradiction. It's the symbol of juxtaposition, and also of balance. The beautiful blossoms of the tree are nestled deep within razor-sharp thorns. Despite the harshness of the opposites, it still manages to become reborn each year as the wondrous being of nature we see it as.

Marriage, like the Hawthorne, is rarely -- if ever -- simple. Sometimes the roots decay and the structure dies, and other times the harmony of the union of opposites is enough to keep it alive year after year. Ron and Hermione Weasley's marriage is one such sapling, but will their case be one among the beautiful boughs? Or will it lie dead and trodden upon, long forgotten by time?

This is opti from Hufflepuff House writing for the Great Hall Chaptered Challenge. Prompt: Bonded.

This Is It, Boy, This Is War by silverlining95

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 3 Reviews
Summary:

Why don't we break the rules already?'

*

As Michael Corner enters his seventh year at Hogwarts, he knows the world around him is changing, and not for the better. He also knows that when the time comes he will fight, but until then the most important thing is keeping himself and those who mean the most to him alive.

*

'Funny, isn't it, how for a Ravenclaw you're awfully fond of self-preservation.'
'I prefer to think of it as using my head rather than relying on a foolhardy sense of bravery.'

A companion piece to The Fire I Yearn For . It's not strictly necessary to read that first, though it may help you understand the events that unfold.

Dust to Dust by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 20 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: Adrian Pucey has always had a tumultuous relationship with Miles Bletchley, but as the years tread on, 'tumultuous' is just the beginning. And when Miles is found dead at the Battle of Hogwarts -- and as a Death Eater -- Adrian's sense of loss pales in comparison to what he finds at the funeral.

This story has been nominated for a 2013 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Dark/Angst.

Can't Fight the Moonlight by Acacia Carter

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 13 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: A life-changing disaster at work drives Neville Longbottom to seek aid from the only ally he thinks he can trust - Hermione Weasley. She's more than willing to help, but keeping it a secret puts nearly as much of a strain on herself and her family as it does on Neville, though for entirely different reasons.

------

I'm not JKR. (I don't think JKR would get such a kick out of putting Neville in such horrid situations.) She owns the Potterverse and everything in it.
Title and various chapter names are from the LeeAnn Rimes song Can't Fight the Moonlight.
Once again, this is a Brand New Neville, completely different to every other Neville you've read about from me. And if you're curious about following along, find yourself a moon phase chart from 2007.
Many thanks and delicious baked goods (but not bagels) to the Marvellous Maple for the beta.

Winters by hestiajones

Rated: 3rd-5th Years • 5 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: A series of vignettes taken from Sirius' mind when he is in Azkaban, and the threads that hold them together.

Expanded from a drabble written for an SBBC Challenge.

We Happy Few by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 4 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: "Neither can live while the other survives."

She often thought on that - ever since she heard it in Harry's hushed tones. Maybe before that even. Not in the exact sense, of course - she would not claim the powers of a Seer (Merlin forbid). But something close to it, maybe - a strange, half-formed thought; ethereal and not quite tangible.

She sometimes tried to think about what it meant - she spent many hours puzzling over it, in fact. She always was one to think of all the possible outcomes. And think she did. And imagined and theorised and wondered and dreamt.

Never once did she imagine this.

To the End by rachelnotrach

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 3 Reviews
Summary: It's the end of seventh year and James Potter has a lot on his mind about friendship, love and how to escape the Girls Dormitory.

Footprints in the Sand by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years • 9 Reviews Past Featured Story
Summary: It was a summer like any other for Danny. He worked at his parents' Bed and Breakfast during the day and partied hard on the beach at night. He played the game, and played it well. But then he met Oliver Wood, and his life was irrevocably changed.

This is Equinox Chick and this is my entry for the OC challenge in the Character Clinic. This is the Shipping Prompt. (and has nothing to do with ships - hee hee.)

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. Sadly Oliver Wood belongs to her, but Danny is mine.

My protagonist, Danny, was briefly mentioned in my story Drowning, not Waving. This is his story and has been written nearly a year after Jess (ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor) asked me to write it.

This story won the 2013 QSQ for Best SSP and Danny won the 2013 QSQ for Best Original Character. I thank the judges, very much.
