Summary: In the late eighteen-hundreds, Isla Black marries a Muggle and is banished by her family in disgrace.

Her sister Elladora is more supportive. She offers to paint Isla's portrait as a gift for her Muggle husband. It will be a masterpiece, Elladora says.

But what Isla doesn't know is that when the portrait is complete, Elladora plans to kill her.

Summary: Nine years after Genevieve Weasley began her lustful affair with Demetri Rosier, she begins to wonder if there's more to the relationship. No matter the answer, her connection with him has dragged her into the Purity of the Night, a group who hopes to bring the purebloods back to power, and their leader has his eye on Genevieve. Now he will stop at nothing to get her, but the cost of Demetri and Genevieve leaving could prove fatal.

Teddy Lupin, always having been suspicious of Demetri, starts keeping a closer eye on his fellow Auror as mysterious things happen between Demetri and Genevieve, beginning with her disappearance from the Auror office. He, and the rest of the extended family, are determined to find her and bring her back where she belongs... away from Demetri, who they believe could cause her more harm than good.

Excerpt from Chapter 21: I'm Still Glad I Stayed:

He groaned and sat down on the couch again. “I’m running out of time, Genevieve.” He looked at me with a sad face.

“What?”

“I’m running out of time. You and I both know that Nathaniel plans on killing me at some point,” Demetri explained.

“No, no! I won’t let him! I—”

“Genevieve, if anything happens to me, leave this apartment. Leave everything you know about me and leave the country if you have to. I don’t want you anywhere near Nathaniel if I die.” He groaned again and covered his eyes with his hands. “You shouldn’t have stayed.”

Summary: The prologue occurs in April 1999. The Epilogue will be in February 1981.

In between those dates is the story of those who grew up during the height of Voldemort’s first attempt at power. They have lived and maybe even loved, just to be further shaken and destroyed by the Second Wizarding War.

Destruction goes hand in hand with creation. And some things destroyed in the First are reborn in the Second, and some things born in the interim are entirely destroyed.

The cast contains Muggle-born orphan Briar Meyer, pureblood Edward Grey, a good man, Diana Rosier, successfully redeeming her friendship with her uncle by being good, Janus Prewett, who lives up to his name, Marguerite Zabini, Blaise’s beautiful aunt, and Rabastan Lestrange, who does not want redemption but may want affection.

Also included will be brief appearances by a battle-weary Neville Longbottom guarding his parents’ persecutor, an irritating Auror, Bellatrix Lestrange at the height of her supremacist madness, Rodolphus Lestrange, not practising what he preaches, Dolores Umbridge drenched in red wine and Sirius Black, getting stood up in 1980s Hogsmeade.

Also the good folk of London will celebrate the first day of summer in 1998, and mourn the loss of the People’s Princess in 1997.

This story is set the end of August, 1994 when Albus Dumbledore asks Remus to teach at Hogwarts. As I was writing this, I had another lightbulb moment surrounding the picture of the original Order of the Phoenix. Remus just has the wrong person as the guilty party.
